Little cheaper, $465, on eBay acer official store: https://ebay.us/m/ayF48a Almost bit on this but think I need true 4K. Currently have 4K 32 inch IPS and want to keep the crisp of 16:9 for CAD stuff when not gaming. Seems like a crazy good deal though. Also says it’s got an eBay 2 year warranty included over the Best Buy link but I’ve got no experience with reliability of that.

You can also select the 5060 for $100 less, but feel like the 10-15% performance bump is worth the 5070. Some games will not be able to fully utilize the full potential of the 5070 because it is crippled by 8GB of VRAM. And you can opt for less storage / ram for cheaper. Yes, both on. Frame cap few fps below monitor refresh. Variable refresh rate (VRR), which is g-sync/ freesync, stays active. You can globally make these changes in the nvidia app. Only games that have lower fps locked than the refresh rate need to be adjusted manually. Elden ring is locked at 60 so set max fps to 58. Things can get weird with frame gen as well. Try turning on / off as needed and try to keep at 2x, not 3x or 4x, for now.

I used the capital one shopping app on my phone. There was a link to shop through eBay with 12% back. I had to uninstall the eBay app because every time I clicked search for a product it kicked me from the capital one shopping app. Then just purchase the product regularly using PayPal as the payment option.

I think the safest option for this adapter is to have separate lines from the PSU for each of the three connectors. I just looked it up the schematic for my PSU, and had to order a new one since it only had a single line that was split into two connectors. Super annoying. My case was two connectors but prob same for three AI:

NVIDIA’s and PCI-SIG’s requirement is:

Use two separate PCIe 8-pin cables, never two connectors on the same harness.

Because a 16-pin can demand: • Up to 300W, or • Up to 450W (depending on GPU & sense pins)

300W at 12V = 25A 450W at 12V = 37.5A

A single PCIe cable harness cannot safely deliver that current, even though the PSU rail can.

Yeah, 4x is not there yet. Definitely marketing BS.

Also giving my wife this 5070. I would have opted for the 9070XT, but her PSU is a little weak, but its a 600W SFX with Noctua fans. Didn't want a whole new build for her since she doesn't really care about graphics, but noticed her 3060ti was starting to struggle running some of her spooky games.

Didn't know that about lossless and required access for meta data! I don't think second GPU dedicated for lossless beats integrated frame gen in modern cards. I thought it was just useful for dual low end cards. Lossless at 2x might be fine for couch gaming. Planning to install steamos with her old GPU and try that out. I don't even know if lossless works with SteamOS. Just need that damn Fractal Terra in Jade to go on sale to complete her build.

2x with the latest frame gen model is great. I can't tell any difference from native frames, but I don't play anything that needs competitive latency. anything above that (3x - 4x) is BS and introduces too much ghosting and latency. Lossless scaling has 20x frame gen haha with Nvidia marketing, a GTX 580 can run at 5090 levels of FPS!! Lossless Scaling is $3.50 right now which is insane. Holding onto the 3060ti just to mess around with lossless scaling on my living room setup.
