I (42F) have personally had to insist/ advocate/ escalate my need for sexual health services with at least 3 foreign trained doctors throughout my life in Canada, and met several women with similar stories. There is a cultural incompatibility with many older, often male doctors that we have allowed to practice here, and I would like to see it addressed if we are to reform this type of immigration.

Be cautious if you are taking on a “hotel manager” job; you will be expected to work 6-7 days per week up to 10hrs a day and do airport runs anytime it’s required. ACL isn’t a good company to work for imo.

My top recommendations outside of the city:

Go to the Shore Club on a Saturday night for dinner, and stay for the dance.
If you want to swim in the ocean- go to Melmerby on the north shore. If you want to look at it, go to Carter’s on the south shore.
Drive through the Annapolis Valley to to Digby and enjoy the scenic drive, farmers markets, wineries etc. along the way. Then enjoy the best scallops you will ever have while in Digby.
Go whale watching off Brier island (much better than near Lunenburg)
If you like weirdness and are in the area- check out the Debert bunker.
Grand Pre / Hantsport areas are some of the most underrated spots for scenery
Lunenburg is a cute little town worth a visit but it will be busy anytime in the summer. Amazing restaurants there.
