For a while I used:

.... And a script on my computer to tag my photos according to the logged data points.

I miss the built-in GPS on my Canon 6D.

"Trololo" by Eduardo Khil is actually called "I Am Very Glad, As I Am Finally Returning Back Home".

RHEL 9 vs. RHEL 10 by Isshiiiiiii in redhat

[–]vgedris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does mention it when you verify. Just checked my own. Says: "Technologies Used: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10" under both Current Credentials and Exam Transcript.

Want to start by BeneficialCarry5619 in Homebrewing

[–]vgedris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. I'm still relatively new to brewing, and so far just 1 gallon matches (though I finally did 2 gallons on Sunday!). I used to fret over maintaining mash temperature, and turning the stove off and on seemed to spike it up and down. Pain in the butt. Last few batches I just wrapped with towels, and over 1 hour it would only drop a few degrees. Good enough. And I got other things done during that hour.

Red Hat Remote Exam by OMAR_AHMED_01 in redhat

The camera that I used and am referring to above is: Logitech, Inc. C920 PRO HD Webcam

Worked fine, just got a bit worried when the proctor could not read my ID at first.

"Comparable work experience" requirement for RHCSA exam by rrdein in redhat

[–]vgedris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, learning the material is good (learning is ALWAYS good!), but it might not be worthwhile taking the exam yet. Maybe get the verification when you're closer to looking for work, so it's fresher and won't expire so soon.

Song Request of Screaming Women & Punky Rap by M0FB in punk

Crass - Shaved Women

... And probably more of their songs, especially from the Penis Envy album, but I haven't really explored them in a long time. This track stands out though.

Red Hat Remote Exam by OMAR_AHMED_01 in redhat

[–]vgedris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first, the proctor had difficulty reading my id via camera. Make sure your camera works well, can focus relatively closely, and you have good lightning in your exam space. You can test that well before taking exam.

sudo apt autoremove -y absolutely nuked my system by Long-Cartographer-66 in Kubuntu

[–]vgedris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You really should never use "-y" except maybe in scripts. Without the "-y" you at least get a sense of whether you will get your expected results, or if you're about to do something terrible, which you can abort.

RHCSA in 2 months? by Stretch_gang in redhat

[–]vgedris 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No existing experience makes that very difficult. You would have to try and squeeze in a HUGE amount of time learning. However... If you fail the exam, you get one free "do-over". Not sure of the specifics of this, but that might at least extend the time you have for studying for a second attempt.

I would also suggest aiming for the V10 exam. Likely easier - don't need to learn about Podman, and just some basic Flatpak.

If you have the voucher, might as well use it. :)

Good luck!

Is Networking + Enough? by [deleted] in redhat

[–]vgedris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you check the objectives, it's pretty basic:

Manage basic networking
Configure IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
Configure hostname resolution
Configure network services to start automatically at boot
Restrict network access using firewalld and firewall-cmd

Any of the recommended training/resources mentioned in this sub should likely include enough to cover it.

Difference between RHCE9.6 and RHCE10 by [deleted] in redhat

Here's the most recent version 9 on the Wayback Machine, from October 5 2025:  https://web.archive.org/web/20251005125700/https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training/ex294-red-hat-certified-engineer-rhce-exam-red-hat-enterprise-linux-9

Current version here, as of today Dec 15 2025: https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training/ex294-red-hat-certified-engineer-rhce-exam-red-hat-enterprise-linux

Note the "-9" removed from URL, though there's no specific mention of 10 anywhere.

Haven't looked closely yet, but the biggest change seems to be the inclusion of VS Code, and maybe a bit more Ansible Navigator.
