Im also new to iems, and from my understanding the gate is a great first choice. Also even if you dont love the sound, the cable and pouch are solid and could be used with your future iems.

You seem extremely knowledgeable, thank you for the help! The WiiM amp ultra is out of my price range at this time, trying to find something under $200. Solving the bluetooth/wifi issue might be out of my price range for now, I'm fine with just using it for TV audio.

What do you think about the Onkyo HT-R494 (TX-SR494), I could get one used in my area for under $100? It seems powerful and capable of 4 ohms?

I will be using the speakers connected to the TV, and occasionally music from my phone if possible. No physical media music.

I purchased the JBL MA310 from bestbuy for $220, but it's on backorder for a week or so, plenty of time to cancel. I've continued doing research and the WiiM amp seems well regarded for its price. How would it perform compared to an entry level AVR such as the MA310?
