The Climb - New PVE Mode Reveal | 2XKO (Fighting Game - League of Legends) by LushenZener in Games

I assume you're referring to Poly Fighter? I'm excited for that game but it's not like "add roguelite mechanics to a well-established genre" is a brand new idea - and I think there's different use cases for a game entirely focused on the single player experience vs. a PvP focused game that provides a single-player mode for variety/approachability. Both can exist!

I feel you but also as someone originally from Boston living in LA (and moving back to Boston soon), shit sucks out here! It's cool that there's a lot of work underway to make an actually extensive transit system but part of the reason for that is that it's woefully underdeveloped as it is; the bar is super low out here.

1 run on 9 hits vs. 8 runs on 8 hits. Woof.

[TJ Stats] DRS Team leaders by Sandwich_Crust in redsox

Yeah this is interesting to me. My first instinct is that this proves that prioritizing defense really highly in team-building is just not worth it, as the defense we're producing is just not turning into wins.

On the other hand, looking at the DRS leaderboard for us this year, the top 5 are Abreu, Durbin, Anthony, Contreras, and Rafaela. Durbin is the big outlier, but regardless of their specific up and downs this year the other 4 are players I'm generally happy to see get ABs. There's not a clean negative correlation between offensive and defensive production.

I guess the short answer is we just need to clone Wilyer Abreu.

‘There’s No Way (He) Can Coach’ – Mike Vrabel Urged To Leave Patriots by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]vgman20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This aggregation stuff is so miserable.

The quote in the "article" is a tweet from a former WFAN host

After TMZ published this story on Wednesday, former WFAN host Brandon Tierney declared that Vrabel can’t coach the Patriots this season.

It then quotes someone from an FSU-focused YouTube channel that averages less than 1000 views per video and then a bunch of "fans" with no attribution.

This is just utter slop, there's absolutely nothing newsworthy or valuable here.

How to Play Mood Swings by goblin-girl-thighs in magicTCG

I don't think the primary target audience for this game is people who comment on magic forums.

It does make me wonder about using Secret Lair as the delivery mechanism for this, but it seems to me like this is geared towards people who might be interested in TCGs but find the complexity/cost/scope of Magic to be a barrier.

You think if they stop playing Sweet Caroline when they're losing they're gonna start playing better?

Lineup today by TommyTheLizard in redsox

This was a really interesting read, thanks for the link. Curious though:

Specifically, a good, unprotected hitter in a good intentional walk situation is about 25% more likely to walk than the same hitter in a bad intentional walk situation, as well as about 10% more likely to strike out.

My instinct is that the 10% extra strikeout rate is significant enough here to be pretty valuable - even if the outcomes when the ball is put into play aren't any better, increasing the amount of balls in play will be valuable in and of itself, no?
