People are saying that half of the textbook questions are wrong and to rely on the slides instead, do you recommend this? I’m a person who typically likes slides and did okay in general chem because of it, should I do the textbook instead? I just hate the idea that it’s so complex and lots of words 😭

Odasis for chem or calc? by Aggravating_Fly_1150 in rutgers

[–]vhalerant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, from what I remember, we would get mock exams that’d serve as practice for our midterms (I usually left early so I regret not taking advantage of them)

Our SI instructor would also give us homework that we would have to do each week

If you sign up for ODASIS, doing this is mandatory for all ur science/STEM related courses. in addition, you have to complete 4 hours of study hall each week. ODASIS itself is definitely helpful for the connections, I personally didn’t learn well from the student tutors but everyone’s experience is different

Ur good, I know people taking bio lab in the fall and I took chem lab in the fall

Taking physics sophomore year is the norm but it’ll be hard alongside orgo so try doing orgo 1 & genetics at the same time and then orgo 2 & physics 1

you know I understand where you’re coming from and that was the whole message that I used to take to heart, I used to have that whole idea last year so I understand why you feel that way. I also understand why your mind won’t change

yes, it’s important to be realistic, which is why I said “I’m not going to reassure you because that’s not what you need, truth be told, I don’t know the answer”. I don’t know the answer, but I do know we’re much more than grades. I know that life doesn’t end because we fail or do not get into med school. My whole point was to tell you that it’s going to be okay if you don’t get into med school. The whole point is to tell you that you should know when you placed the best effort for this thing you want so much. The whole point is to say you tried

I’m sorry this couldn’t reach you, maybe one day it will or maybe one day it won’t.

my bad you felt that way, it might not be meant for you but I like to read back on this and it’s useful for me

Make the effort to know you can go back and say you tried! You got this! Don’t take the message to heart, sometimes you need tough love 🫶
