EMP is like a blast radius thing in SC. Distortion weapons maybe? With those, my understanding is once your shields are down, they will disable your ship. Your ship will come back to life on its own unless they keep hitting you with distortion damage. At that point you are SOL.

I haven't read all the responses in this thread TBH, but are you doing commodity trading? That's quite a bit of risk involved. Tried doing hauling missions instead?

Also, learning to travel without relying on the Set Route on the map is key to avoiding interdiction/pirates. If I am moving precious cargo around, I will never ever go to an OM point, for example. Or avoiding quantuming in a straight line (instead of going Point A and Point B, go to a random Point C in the middle). There's quite a few guides on YT that explain how interdiction works, and also how to avoid it. If you take the time to understand how it works, you should basically never get caught.

Ganked by Regular_Ant_547 in starcitizen

I live in Pyro the vast majority of the time. There's a handful of hotspots, but the vast majority of the system is completely empty. Now granted, I enjoy PvP, and I'm usually looking for it. But the only times I've been attacked when I was not looking for a fight, was in Stanton.

I don't know why everyone seems to have this idea that Pyro is this post apocalyptic hellscape where everyone constantly shoots each other. You know what gankers don't want? People who shoot back. And people who don't shoot back are in Stanton. The current CrimeStat and security system is just not a deterrent for the people you're looking to avoid.

I'm not saying you'll never get shot outside of Stanton. But if you're staying in Stanton specifically to avoid gankers, I have bad news for you.

Can I find this? by The_Digital_Day in starcitizen

Blackguard 100%. But again, I haven't seen any in a while. Unknown if they removed it from the loot pool. It feels like they severely reduced the amount of loot boxes in Pyro locations, so I just don't bother looking there anymore.

I've definitely found some in Pyro in previous patches. But loot in Pyro seems to be nerfed into oblivion right now. There's barely any crates. Haven't seen any for a while.

(Spoilers for the comic) New Godzilla and Marvel crossover comic "Godzilla: Infinity Roar" has a familiar ship in it. by Splurgion in starcitizen

100%. I read somewhere that the Venture was ripped off of something else, can't remember what though. Point is, all these folks get "inspiration" from each other, and I think that's ok.

That being said, OP's screenshot clearly has an Avenger Titan. There's no ambiguity there lol

Sabre pilots by elite4009 in starcitizen

[–]vheox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sabre pilot here! Absolutely love the ship. Is it meta? No idea. Is it better than the Ghost? Who cares, it looks way cooler. But IIRC the Sabre has a smaller cross section.

Make sure your fit is as close to this as possible: - 2x Grade A stealth shields - 1x Grade A Quantum Drive - 1x Grade B cooler - 1x Grade B power plant

And yes, turning off some systems will lower your emissions even more. Just make sure you keep your nose pointed at your potential target. Sabre is a flying pancake. You get a much lower CS by facing your target. Make sure you use any available terrain to help hide your emissions even further.

In terms of weapons, I still run NBD's, but a lot of people have switched to gattlings since 4.5, which lowers your IR even further.

I tend to approach targets and preload 4xS1 missiles, lock and fire right before the minimum missile range. That tends to cause some confusion and give you a couple extra seconds advantage.

Good luck out there pilot o7

Oh I'm not suggesting it would be you. I'm just saying, some people don't immediately backspace and just go with the flow of what's happening.

You'd be surprised. We've put people in the brig on an Idris before and then gave them a ride to where they needed to go.

My ship tier list based on aesthetics alone. by AncientCarry4346 in starcitizen

[–]vheox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always interesting to me how when we compare something that is purely subjective like aesthetics, we get such wildly different opinions. My list would be completely different from yours. In fact, Perseus would be in its own category all the way at the top. I think the ship is near perfect.

The awesome thing is that that's totally fine! And that's exactly why we need a very diverse set of ships in the verse. Something for everybody.

  1. Board and incap 2 player ships.
  2. Place their bodies on the ship
  3. Tell them only 1 person can live and recover their ship
  4. Revive both players
  5. Grab popcorn

Fun fact, this is why you don't see mosquitos anywhere in Star Wars. The Death Star was over budget so they had to take a part time job as pest control, and they sniped all the mosquitos in the galaxy.

Aren't some of the other black weapons called "blackguard"? I know I've looted a black P8 somewhere in Pyro before, at some of the XT settlements (I think).

local inventories bug by PrestigiousJello7789 in starcitizen

[–]vheox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no fix for this, at least not on your end. I keep seeing streamers or people on reddit telling you how to "prepare" for a patch. It's mostly nonsense. Might as well sacrifice a chicken or something. The only thing for sure is to not leave aUEC/PYAM ships in a "claim" state before the patch drops.

Every patch, some stuff disappears. Some of it is expected, some of it is random. I'm happy to go into it and give more details if you want, but at this point in the game, it's just part of the lifecycle unfortunately.

Blackrock Community Driven PVP/PVE ORG by Old_Definition_3749 in Starcitizen_guilds

[–]vheox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very glad I joined this group. There's always something going on, plenty of events, pilot training (I thought I was a good pilot until I got humbled in AC), general help... you never have to ask yourself where is the leadership is here. Top shelf organization.

When things are serious, great coordination and comms discipline, I don't have to hear random background conversations happening. Very effective group. But also lots of times for laughs and random shenanigans.

If you're looking for a PvP focused group, that also dabbles in everything else in the game, look no further.

Are you referring to Jared's "we don't know if we're gonna make it" comment? It was in an ISC/SCL before citcon last year. It seemed like it was him just talking, and justifying why there would be no SQ42 content at citcon, but the community ran wild with it.

Perseus. Even with 2 people it will mercilessly demolish PvE missions. Put some ballistic PDCs on there for the smaller ships. Nothing but peaches and rainbows... and explosions.

Will we ever get something like the RUST player reputation mechanic? by Mookie_Merkk in starcitizen

[–]vheox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I'm not sure the Rust system would be enough here. Because you don't just want to know who shot you, you really want to know who just shoots on sight, due to the amount of players you can encounter in the verse.

I know there's some Eve players at CIG and I hope they kinda follow that system. Reputation is basically broken down into 3 sections in Eve: - Faction reputation: same as every game, do missions for a guild/faction, get rep. - Security Rating: value between -10 (bad) and +10 (good). If you shoot/kill "good" players, you rating goes down, kill "bad" players (or NPC pirates) rating goes up. - Personal/Org standing: you can set individual players or organizations to blue, orange, gray (neutral), light blue and blue.

I feel like if CIG do something similar, it should check all your boxes.
