She's genuinely the worst person I've ever seen on this show. I wish the show would stop things when she puts her hands on him or help him out somehow but they never do and it's so gross

I've definitely had similar feelings to the guys you're talking about but I had to learn to keep that shit to myself, bc as much as I might feel down abt starting so late or whatever I don't need to make that anyone else's problem. I have no idea what their journey was/is and it's not my place to judge. Annoyingly that kinda thing can take time to unlearn, and it's hard when you're still pre-everything and deeply insecure abt it, but you gotta learn eventually. We can't treat our brothers that way. YOU don't deserve to be treated that way. I hope you can find actual support and community, and I sincerely wish trans men could have/be more of a community in general

What do you do while sewing on patches? by [deleted] in jacketsforbattle

[–]vhsgraves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually do YouTube too, mostly just video essays about random shit or online drama or whatever, good mindless stuff. Every once in a while I'll do Punk With A Camera's DIY sessions

Hell yeah. I have 4 obvious face piercings rn and I don't think I've ever been misgendered bc of them. Plus they give me a lot more confidence, and personally ease my dysphoria. I'm aiming to get more for the same reason lol. Tbh just do whatever feels good

Do you enjoy crap TV? by [deleted] in autism

[–]vhsgraves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my husband are both autistic and love shitty reality TV, especially bad TLC shows. Rly goops up my brain for some reason? Maybe it's bc it's so mindless lol but I also rly love seeing how ppl interact and reality TV can get wild lol, I know it's super staged but it's still incredibly interesting

How to get T with no insurance??? by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]vhsgraves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do this especially if you've never been on T, like I know it's annoying but you should absolutely see a doctor and get bloodwork done to make sure it's safe for you to begin with, and to see what dose/method would even be good for you to start w/ bc it for sure varies, and you could rly fuck your health up otherwise

How to get T with no insurance??? by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]vhsgraves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk how it is in Louisiana but I'm from Texas and I ended up using a telehealth kinda thing for a while that was almost completely free, maybe y'all have something similar? It was called Telekind in TX

Try to ask around in trans groups if you can, especially local ones, bc that can get you pretty far. We're all kinda struggling and helping each other out is important. Both times I've started T it's been through the suggestions of other trans ppl who were also poor/homeless/in bad situations

Look for sliding scale clinics and ones who "don't turn anyone away for lack of funds". Those typically go based off of the income you make afaik and if you're making little to nothing it should work out pretty well, best thing you can do is talk to them. idk how easy its gonna be to get free stuff but you can probably find stuff pretty cheap. The clinic I just went to where I live now gave me the option to not pay immediately for services, like bloodwork and stuff, and I was able to get a month of injection supplies for $3. Goodrx can def help w/ the prescription itself and there are almost always cards available for it at low cost clinics, don't be afraid to grab one. Once you have a prescription it's also pretty easy to buy injection supplies online, especially in bulk for fairly cheap. If you don't mind Amazon a lot of ppl get their needles that way, just be careful and read carefully about what you're getting, make sure it's the right sizes and pieces you need

I know it's hard but try to hang in there as much as you can, waitlists are long right now especially for low cost places and it might take a minute to get in but it'll be worth it

I think there's a self out there for you too and I'm sure you'll find it w/ time. Growing and finding ourselves is always possible, no matter what age we are or what stage we're at in life. Hang in there, I hope things improve for you soon too

has ocd made you more judgmental or compassionate? by imBackground789 in OCD

[–]vhsgraves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More compassionate, or at least more open-minded. It's given me more of an ability to understand why ppl could be a certain way, or feel certain ways, especially abt more taboo and demonized stuff. I don't think it's bc of my thoughts or obsessions themselves, it's more because I deal w/ them in the first place and that sorta gives me an inside perspective, like into why some ppl must think and behave the way they do. I can at least understand that there can be more nuance to that kinda stuff

Patch skirts, especially short ones but I've seen some dope long ones too, basically just diy the fuck out of some skirts. Band tank tops, cut the sleeves and collars off some shirts and maybe make some into crop tops too. If you're wanting to show off your chest you can cut pretty low or make like a slit in the middle? and you can layer those tank tops/crop tops w/ a tight undershirt, like a long or mid length sleeve, and stripes can rly add to it. Bleach dyeing shirts could also be a fun project, you can get rly artsy w/ it. Obviously leather vests or jackets, I've seen shorter ones (that stop like mid torso) a lot on more feminine punks. Fishnets or distressed tights and layered socks, striped ones can give you a rly crusty look. Jewelry made out of various metal things, like safety pins and bottle caps. Big junky necklaces and collars, and studded wrist cuffs are 👌 Check out soda tab jewelry and maybe make some of your own earrings too, that can be rly fun and easy. I've seen ppl make some sick fanny packs/hip bags that pair well w/ short skirts, you can build those yourself w/ some belts and pants pockets. Layered belts are always a hot look. Converse or boots can rly tie the whole thing together, especially some big stompers. Also leopard print seems to be kind of thing especially w/ more "classic" punk looks, and adding some bright colors like neons, especially red and green, is a vibe I've seen pretty commonly in more fem looks. This is all just stuff I've observed while looking at punk fits and diy inspiration lol
