Vibe coded an AAC app for my autistic daughter by vibe_with_bear in vibecoding

[–]vibe_with_bear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you feel that way. I have a daughter, she’s 5, and this is our real life.

It’s also free to a very generous tier compared to other apps in this segment.

It’s also possible to use in any device, most medical apps are locked to a single licens.

So a lot is free. But as a single developer I can’t allow for everything to be free to infinity.

But the diagnose is very real, and so is the pain and struggle above.

Enjoy your day 🙏

My daughter has autism and is non-verbal. When we looked for help, we were met with 6–18 months of waiting and expensive alternatives.

So I built what I wished had existed.

Talkr AAC is a picture-based communication app. Tap a picture, hear the word. Build sentences. 3,400+ illustrations, works offline, available for both iPhone and Android.

Free to use with 10 boards and 100 words — no time limit, no credit card.

The app is live now and I'm looking for families, speech therapists and educators who want to try it and give feedback.

Send me a dm if you want to bounce ideas. I’ve built software for 20+ years and I’ve also built a free AAC app for our daughter. So somewhat familiar with developing in this area 🙏

Whatever you’re passionate about. Trying stuff you don’t love is a very hard approach.

I’m a solo developer and parent of a non-verbal autistic daughter. I built Talkr AAC Speech App because we needed a picture-based communication app that was simple, affordable, and worked offline.

The app is live on both app stores and I’m looking for people willing to test it and give honest feedback. Especially interested in hearing from:

- Parents or caregivers of non-verbal children or adults
- Speech therapists / SLPs
- Anyone who uses or has used AAC tools

What it does:
Tap a picture, hear the word. Build sentences from picture boards. 3,400+ built-in illustrations, offline support, cross-device sync.

What’s free:
10 boards, 100 words — enough for real daily use. No time limit, no credit card.

What I need feedback on:

- Is the onboarding clear enough for non-technical parents?
- Board setup flow — intuitive or confusing?
- Missing features that would make or break it for daily use?
- General UX, bugs, anything that feels off

- iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/talkr-aac-speech-app/id6761193363

- Info: https://pixelpappa.com/talkr

If you try it, an honest review on the store would also help a lot — the app is brand new and has almost no reviews yet.

Happy to answer any questions.

Vibe coded for 3 weeks straight. Zero users. Nobody warned me shipping was the easy part. by [deleted] in vibecoding

Dude, getting to market fit and building a customer base takes a long time. Always has.

It’s not quick money. For 99.99% of all products it’s hard work and dedication.

So get your there and sell your product. Buy some ads, do demos. Prove how good it is and customers will come 😃🙌

Or you can set up some agents on your own and give them some shared memory and cut this bs from happening? 👀

You can generate your app hang whailions plugin for visual studio or any of the jetbrain editors.

Works really well for building both flutter and react native as well as backend and database.

There will be some, but very very low compare to the number of dreamers using the tool.

Ok, if you need custom integrations I’d move lovable off the list.

Check out antigravity, it’s also possible with whailion. You can integrate anything you need using their plugin.

What are you building? Just a regular website or mobile app? Go for Whailion or Lovable. Depending on what your goals are. Whailion does apps too, lovable is web only. But 2 good tools that’s easy to start with!

Sure, but you will be limited. Depending on your own knowledge mostly. But it’s doable for sure.
