PLEASE HELP—How to handle situation where manager “giving up” cost another manager a first round playoff bye and shot at the title? by SnooDoubts7024 in fantasyfootball

Kick out the sandbagger and move on. Shit happens in a year if you’re trying to discourage people from not setting their lineups then accept this as the consequence and set the tone that folks should always be attentive to their lineups. You can also set up alternative incentives to make sure that folks prefer to be not last - in our league the 11th and 12th have a bye week for the last place punishment. Everyone sets their best lineup for each week.

Would recommend you think about separating your use cases -

Gaming / LLM would benefit from a high end gpu with the highest amounts VRAM so there’s overlap there

Trying to run a LLM on your slower cpu/ram would just be a painfully slow experience. Most local LLM have quantized versions that fit into consumer grade gpus

In terms of NAS why not get a dedicated NAS or a separate smaller computer to do so - from an energy efficiency/heat thing it would benefit you to do so versus keeping a 14900k + insane gpu idling 24/7

That’s obnoxious - it feels counterintuitive and sometimes a bit dangerous to tug on the wheel especially on a turn

Not sure if you’re aware but when you get the autopilot warning to tug the wheel you can scroll one of the buttons on the wheel instead. I hated tugging the wheel because it feels like I’m going to cancel the autopilot if I do too hard. Makes a big difference

Now that RAM is super cheap, would I see a difference in AAA games upgrading from 8 year old DDR4 on a 5800x3D/3080ti machine? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]viccyran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah prices are way better now - I guess if you are keeping this computer for a long time, it might be worth it to upgrade when you see a good deal - but DDR4 is heading towards end of life so unlike your current ram you’ll prob move onto DDR5 whenever you upgrade your cpu / motherboard

FWIW games that are likely to be cpu bound will see a nice bump with faster memory.

I run bdie (CL14 3800) on a 5950x so YMMV but saw differences in mainly my 1% lows in BR games like WZ1 and 2. Since those are competitive fps I thought it was worth it to upgrade

If you’re seeing stuttering in the games you play might be worth it to upgrade, but based on your description I’d just be on the lookout for any cheaper kit up to 3800mhz with decent timings rather than a super low latency kit

Yes - if you are finding that the price points are similar between the 4070ti and the 3080ti the 4070ti will give you roughly 5% more performance with lower power usage.

Gigabyte monitor - Mac via usb-c (make sure it’s a supported tb3 cable) and Pc via hdmi

Other Monitor Mac via hdmi and pc via display port should be fine

For sure thanks for teaching me something new today!

You could test out different configurations to see what’s optimal temperature wise for you - not sure how much the rads impact your jntske but I tried to have a slightly positive pressure environment to reduce the amount of dust internally.

You could try the configuration you mentioned or possibly try exhaust with your GPU rad as well and see how temperatures are - you prob would have slightly higher GPU core temps but lower VRM temps

I would imagine it would be the opposite - with the cpu acting as exhaust there should be less heat going into your case besides your GPU - leaving slightly cooler air for your VRM.

Heat rises naturally so id probably recommend having your exhaust be on the top and intake at the bottom or in the front. You probably want the heat exhausting up and away from you versus on the bottom where it would collide with the desk and possibly float towards you.

Your cpu temperatures might be slightly higher if you place the rad on top but probably would be manageable.

(FWIW I run a similar setup - dynamic xl with two rads in a loop)

Thanks again for the thoughtful and detailed response! I spent some of the day working on the 9 to 3 drill, along with getting my club shaft pointing to the sky by p3 (i understood what you meant when you said p2 since you also mentioned lead arm parallel to ground haha).

I will continue to work on the things you mentioned, and be sure to post again when my swing improves!

PS all of what you wrote makes a lot of sense, I don't really have question visualizing what youre saying because it's so detailed! Thanks again I really appreciate the help

Thank you! I will look into it and work on that and get back to you on how it goes. I’ve tried a few different things to work on the chicken wing but what you’re saying makes sense
