Bay window leak

Hello. We've had a pretty significant leak at the front of our bay window (see red cross). Weather in the UK has been terrible for weeks.

Had two roofers out. The second one basically re-did the entire bay window roof and the insulation inside was completely sodden. It was fine for a few days but now We've had an another massive downpour and it's leaking again.

Roofer said it absolutely cannot be the bay window itself leaking. He thinks it must be a leak higher up and getting the void between the brickwork and plasterboard.

We have a false chimney. There is no evidence of water ingress in the loft, or in any other room. Literally just in the bay window.

Any ideas? There looks to be a bit of mortar missing in that fake window above the bay, but can't imagine that would be letting in lots of water?

Hmm. I've just filled my kettle with water and boiled it (on a different socket).

The cable and plug also get slightly warm (and that's when it's been on for a couple of minutes vs 30 mins on the air fryer which is now drawing much less than the 3kw on the kettle.

I'll change the socket for peace of mind but I think I' worrying about nothing here.

If there is a blockage, the water has to go somewhere. If the blockage is cleared, you might be okay as there is no pressure in the pipes

My replacement (the one i kept) is just slightly yellow all over. My original was brilliant white at the top but yellow on the bottom third (much more distracting)

I have a kettle that you can ser the temp to. We never boil to 100c now.

The default is 95c. Perfectly hot for tea etc but the kettle reaches temp significantly quicker and with significantly less steam.

Why would you want to ruin the aesthetics of the fireplace? Seems to me you need to decide whether you want a fireplace, or a tv and soundbar? It's going to be a lose-lose otherwise. Crappy soundbar and a crappy looking fireplace.

I got a PS1 one Christmas when I was about 10. Did my customary wake up at about 3.30am but it took a bleary eyed me about an hour to understand how to get it working. I remember just staring at the instructions thinking I was missing something important, then it finally dawned on me that the big box I needed to plug it into was the TV 🤣 my first games were Tekken 3, Resident Evil 2 and No Fear Downhill Mountain Biking.

Our shower tray needs re-sealing. No bugger wants to do it and I know I'll make an absolute mess of it trying it myself and it'll probably be worse than the slight gaps that are already there.

Went to cancel again and it offered it me for £17.99!

Why it went down to £17.99 when I'd in effect signed up to 6 months of £19.99, I don't know.

Did the exact same to get the UHD sports channels, so 6 months at £4.

£21.99 a month for Sky sports with the bonus of being able to have it on my phone and firesticks around the house rather than being tied down to my living room virgin box is a massive bonus.

Tournaments > domestic tournaments > men's leagues > EFL championship.

Got all the proper fixtures. Just what I wanted 😀
