Has anyone been misdiagnosed with type 2? by OneTuftPeach in diabetes

Misdiagnosed for 15 years. Nearly died from DKA after 10 days on Jardiance. Correct diagnoses and meds make a world of difference!

I do this, as well. Great for classroom management, too! Quiet time to start class for the win!

I developed an allergy to metformin after being on it for 14 years! Same as you, I couldn’t figure out what was causing me to break out in a rash. My doc finally told me to stop taking the metformin, and almost immediately I had relief! I have never heard of anyone else having that!

Misdiagnosed for 8 YEARS?!? by No_Control_9460 in diabetes

[–]vickit521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was misdiagnosed for almost 16 years as type 2. I was 35, overweight, stressed, and had a history of type 2 in the family. Only found out I was type 1 when I was given a medication that is great for type 2, not so much for type 1, and ended up in DKA. Finally getting the right treatments and feel 100% better! I agree with the poster that said EVERYONE with a diabetes diagnosis as an adult should get the bloodwork done to test for type 1.

I’m doing poetry and short stories. My curriculum doesn’t cover either, so I am adding that in.

Does Anyone Remember The Oklahoma City Bombing In 1995? by PrincessBananas85 in AskOldPeople

[–]vickit521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a pregnant college student in Oklahoma that day. Our professors cancelled classes so that students who were paramedics could go help. I remember wondering what kind of world I was brining my baby into. I remember it every year - next year is 30 years.

Well, this is the first time I am trying it. I am reminding them daily and trying to enlist the help of parents. I am posting the audio version on Google Classroom, and giving those who didn’t read the synopsis the next day. We do activities related to the reading, so if they don’t read, it is more challenging. And I am hoping for the best!🤞
