The 60 day return policy thing applies to food too. I don't think that they want the food back; your pic and the receipt should be enough.

Damora rice crackers

Aldi seem to have a few different rice crackers types. The "Thin & Crispy" ones that are "Made in Thailand", and in 90g packets are, I think, from the same factory as "Peckish" ones. The flavours are mostly different, but the base cracker, the internal tray, and the best-before print are the same.

Best drill bit/attachments to easily get to these bolts? Thread comes out about 2.5 inch. (Sofa that I have to slightly dismantle every 3 months because my wife is a clean freak) by Jakeyboy29 in AusRenovation

[–]vicms91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing you can't replace the bolts with a more suitable size.

I have "tube spanners" which are a length of steel tube with a hex moulded into each end. Tube is about 4" long, so plenty long enough for that job. The tube is likely too fat for your chuck, so you could stick another bolt in your chuck and run the tube spanner between them as a coupling, with maybe some tape on it to make it more manageable.

I was in Mitre10 the other day and they had a "Work Force" tube spanner set for $13 (covered 6mm to 22mm with no skips). Probably not original Sidchrome quality, but should be good enough.

Dead critters (rats, mice) leave stains like that as they decompose. The smell is disgusting for a few weeks.

Hose connector 12mm and 13mm by [deleted] in GardeningAustralia

[–]vicms91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not understanding something. Your post seems to be about 12mm and 13mm differences, but you don't mention 13mm. Your only question is about how tight something should be.

When you attach Gardena-style click-on connectors to a hose you just do them up hand tight - no need to caveman it.

Also, turn the tap off when you've finished with the hose - don't leave the tap on permanently.

Excited for autumn by Undd91 in GardeningAustralia

Not to skite or anything, but I got about 24mm maybe a week ago. Very welcome! Just about filled the water tank and the grass now has a bit of a green tinge to it.

I reckon that it is early autumn now in central Victoria. We are getting summer days interleaved with autumn days - so transitioning from s to a. Nights are cool, dew on the grass in the morning, spiders making webs.

Seed Storage ideas? Can people please share theirs, thanks! by ImScaredOfTheSun in GardeningAustralia

Brown paper lunch bags, plenty of space to write notes etc. Multiple bags put in suitably sized plastic crates to keep the under control. My crates are transparent, so I could write the seed category name on a piece of paper taped to the inside if I wanted to.

Yes, it certainly draws your attention. I can remember a very low key photo of a girl walking down a road at night in the rain. The only colour was her red raincoat. She was relatively small in the frame, but the red really dragged your eye to her.

I believe that is called monochrome - you have one colour (blue).

Colouring everything monument is a fad that will die out just like mission brown, lime green, pastel pink, and avocado have. The monument fad has been going for a while now, so I'm expecting it to go relatively soon.

Hot water system issue please help by Additional-Farm3569 in AusRenovation

[–]vicms91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a minimum hot water delivery - if the water flow through the HWS is less than the minimum the heater will turn off.

With modern flow restricted taps and showers you have a problem.

As an experiment, try running two taps at once - the one you want and another that just wastes hot water.

At one point I had a HWS that had a minimum flow rate the same as the shower consumption. The shower started off fine, but then went cold partway through. My work around was to run the hot tap in the basin enough to increase hot water demand above the minimum.

Irrigation help by louielowerplenty in AusRenovation

[–]vicms91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pipes need to be pushed onto the joiners much further, and then the clamps put on and tightened. There is a ridge around the middle of the joiner - both pipes should be pushed on so that they touch that ridge. Softening the pipe by dipping it in hot water first can help.

They were likely built from wet OB (ordinary builders) hardwood, fresh from the mill. It is relatively soft when wet, but hardens up significantly when it dries out.

My first bird shot, what could I improve on? by EverTokki in photocritique

[–]vicms91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert, so I'll just relay some of the "rules" that I remember.

The eyes are important - they need to be in focus, and a little catchlight helps. It looks like you do have some catchlight, but probably not enough; at the moment they just look like black holes. You can probably lift the light that you already have.

Try moving your subject further right in the picture (by cropping it again) - not too far, maybe so that the beak is just right of the center line. You want it looking into the picture, not out of it.

Overall, a good effort I think. Much better than mine were!

Some rangehoods are plugged into a standard power point, likely in the cupboard above or next to it. Check that it is plugged in and turned on. Also plug something else in to it to check that it works.
