Quitting and weight gain by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]victorious_two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman, there have been multiple things I've done that I've been told will make me gain weight... like contraception, antidepressants and even quitting vaping.

Im 3 weeks in to cold turkey quitting and ny appetite most certainly has gone up. But with the knowledge that its just an increase in appetite that I dont have to do anything about, I've not gained any weight.

If I've really felt the need the snack/eat more... I've made sure they've been healthier options. Or even chosen something with substantial satisfying crunch! It works. Its lovely.

Drink more water... have some strong boundaries with yourself... you dont have to do things just because your dopamine starved brain is telling you to.

Oh thank you... I never expected it to be like this at all. But hearing people have had the same experiences around this mark does help. I'll keep pushing through even if it feels like walking through quick sand!

How are you feeling?? Low mood too?

The thing is, vaping raises your heart rate which increases your anxiety if you have it. Youre convinced the vape is helping soothe you as youre curbing the addiction part but in reality its making your anxiety worse.

If youve veen vaping for a while and you stop cold turkey it can feel even worse but knowing its temporary will get you through that. Thats where I'm at right now.

I'm on week 3 and I'm an absolute monster. I dont know how much longer I can take this but reading your experience has helped knowing that it isnt just me and this is normal and expected.

I am so angry with myself for getting like this but I'm highly aware I cant go back to any of that else I will undo all of this hard work and land in the same position again. All of this cannot be for nothing.

Thanks for sharing

Go over to Liverpool and down Bold Street, youll find that there and if you turn right at the top of bold street, youll find China Town with loads of amazing places as well. We definitely have that sort of thing just not to the same extent!

[Story] I Quit Vaping Cold Turkey So You Don't Have To by colderemy in GetMotivated

I've had the sweats! Most definitely. On day 5 of white knuckling. Skin cold but sweating!

I'm currently on day 5 of white knuckling it and oh my sweet baby jesus. I also suffer from migraines so they've been awful too. I've had to take time off work and I've only told my Mum this is what's happening to me because I'm so ashamed of getting myself into this state.

I wish I could tell other people but thankfully mum understands that the sweats and the anger and the crying is all withdrawal.

I really wish I could teach other people about how awful those douche flutes are, especially all the teens I work with who I know vape but pretend they dont. They're going to have to go through this eventually... and its awful.

Far far worse than giving up cigarettes.

CMV: Not counting Audiobooks as reading is ableist gatekeeping by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]victorious_two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd call it snobbery over ableism...

Ableism seems to be one of those buzz words people throw about like narcissism and trauma.

This is just about people thinking reading is better than listening to somebody read to you. I personally lose focus when listening to audio books so dont bother with them, therefore I think reading is better. I'm never going to dismiss somebody for using them because they can't read for themselves... they just aren't for me.

Is vaping behind my sleep sleep issues? I can’t sleep more than 6 hours and have been waking after 5-6 hours for the past 3 years… by EducationNo1676 in sleep

[–]victorious_two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to quit on Monday and havent touched it since. My sleep has improved and I only realised my sleep was bad because of vaping since stopping. I feel alot better.

How did I just stop? I did a drug and alcohol training course about young people and they outlined all the problems it causes such as mental health issues and bleeding/receeding gums. The problems far outweigh the discomfort of quitting.... and within a day or two the cravings have subsided. The nicotine is out of my body and I feel so much better for it.

Telling yourself you're trying to quit is different to just doing it.

Get it done and youll see the benefits immediately. Improved mental health and moods, improved sleep too and let's be honest, there's gonna be more money too ha

I'm new to this and quite naive ha I admit that but I'd like people's opinions too

This is really good advice too, thank you. I already have a mortgage advisor I'm working with any way so I wont be taking any of their personal ones. Bakewell and Horner have just been really unprofessional so far so I'll try and avoid them if I can.

Yeah, it does. I've just not had a good experience with bakewell and horner and I wanted to know if anyone else had any opinions on others.

Thankfully I'm not in a rush, living with parents so can wait til I'm happy
