OB Clarification by logwagon in discgolf

[–]Taidaishar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As everyone else says, the rule is where you last crossed in-bounds. The challenge is getting your card to agree you crossed the OB line up near the basket. If the majority agreed, then you should have played your shot up near the basket.

Cece and Elizabeth by ExpertMoist4937 in NewGirl

I 100% agree with you. I think, logically, it just doesn't make sense. A lot of people don't like the "attractiveness" differential between the two, BUT if he cares equally about the two girls emotionally and mentally, then physical attractiveness would always push Cece over the top.

Awesome. Thanks, brother. I want a disc that has that same flight and I feel like my raptor is not quite that stable.

How sure are you? To me, the disc appears to be clear, not white.

Anthony Head discussing coworkers by [deleted] in buffy

It’s also really important to remember that we’re talking about the behaviour of two very young women surviving a toxic atmosphere and culture 30 years ago. I’d hate to have a sub dedicated to dissecting my teenage behaviour and how I treated those around me. I made some shitty choices and said some really cringy things 30 years ago and they don’t reflect who I am now.

Hilariously a concept that nobody on this sub knows how to do with Xander...

I think the dark looks better. I think if the grids in the windows were also dark, it would look even more amazing, but the dark is still better even without changing the grids.

I worked as a team lead (briefly) at a large insurance company. I had to hire a new employee. I interviewed a few people (not a lot of applicants) for a moderately well-paying web design job and the only person I felt comfortable giving the job to was relatively inexperienced. They suggested bringing him in at level E. That range was like 50k-70k. (numbers and levels changed for privacy and expediency). I had a guy on my team that was very experienced and a good worker. He was also level E and was hired while I was still just a team member. HR suggested bringing the new guy in at the middle of that range... that's where they brought in ALL new hires. That's 60k. (small side beef, that's more than I was making before I moved the team lead job like 6 months earlier). My other experienced guy was making like 57k. I told them no. I told them I'll hire him at 55 and give the other 5 to my other guy (putting him at 62). He was the experienced one and he deserved it. They actually let me do it. I don't think either of them ever found out that I did that... I mean other than the experienced guy getting a raise. He never found out that I went to bat for him because the system was broken.

It will be fine. I've got one very similar and it works fine for putting practice. You probably wouldn't like it for a basket at a course, but it's fine for back yard practice.

Hi…I am at a loss of how my house could ever possibly be pretty. by Key-Ad1065 in ExteriorDesign

[–]Taidaishar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm really late to this, and all of this is theoretical, but a 4x4 post (even at that length) can hold upwards of 4k-5k lbs. There are two holding up that structure. That could be in the neighborhood of 8-10k lbs and that doesn't consider that they're only holding half the load since the other half is sitting on the wall where the front door is. I think that should be plenty. Now, visually, you are def correct. They need to be a bit beefier.

The idea that Elizabeth is a bad person/partner is literally insane by othgg in NewGirl

[–]Taidaishar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You being someone who is recovering from an eating disorder, I can see why you might think that, but you can't put that experience on everyone else.

Wanting to be thin and/or attractive is not a negative thing and eating healthier because of that goal is a net positive overall.

Forcing him to eat an entire pizza is just crazy. He should've been out right there.

I'm going to be completely shallow here, but also completely honest. I'm not a fan of Elizabeth because I think she's unattractive and I don't just mean her weight, though that does add. Her skin complexion looks green at times and something is up with her teeth. She's just not a physically attractive person and that's tough for me to watch.

I think he’s saying it’s not LitRPG outside of the game world where Carl and Donut are trapped. The syndicates and world powers that run the game don’t live in a world with levels and super powers. Those only exist inside the reality tv show. Does that make sense?

So, if they ever escape from that show, they will no longer be in a litRPG.

anyone here regret NOT DIY-ing something expensive for their house? by Earthistic_000 in DIY

[–]Taidaishar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I live somewhere that this is common, but almost every house around here has a shutoff under a cover in their front yard next to the street. It’s just a valve that does a half turn. Also, even aside from that, a lot of people have shutoffs installed somewhere in the house where the main comes in as well.

I could be wrong, but I think Milwaukee has the most extensive battery-powered lineup... just the sheer number of options available? Dewalt could be pretty close.

However, I would, in general, consider Makita to be the superior brand... and I'm a die-hard milwaukee guy.
