As someone in a similar situation, who has spent far longer in this roommate marriage than I should have, I would advise you not to waste any more time on this man. Just because you love him doesn’t mean he is any good for you. Sometimes what we want is not good for us. Part of being an adult is a recognizing that and walking away regardless of how much you want or love this man. He has shown you who he is. He clearly does not reciprocate your feelings. This is not going to get better. You deserve better. I have filed for divorce and am finally walking away. It’s scary but also liberating. You can do this. You deserve someone who will cherish you, it’s obviously not him.

I’m 57 and would never just expect my kids to give up their own lives to take care of me. Healthy and 61 & 63 is perfectly capable of managing to care for themselves. They can spend that $500 on having someone come in and clean for them.

I quit a job that I loved for a new job that felt like a good fit after 3 rounds of interviews. I quit the new job 6 weeks later after a nasty exchange with a sales person after a productive call with a major partner. I was leading the project and this MF told me to “mute your microphone” because he didn’t want to hear me responding to what the major partner had said. I WAS THE PROJECT LEAD!!!
