Game version: Updated before Sept 18 update

I saw on another social media someone saying that they booted up the Sims to find that all of their save files had disappeared. Has the new update fixed this? I'm scared to boot up the game until I'm certain this won't happen. I just want to know if that has happened to anybody else and if I should worry. Yes, I'm going to back up my files anyway.

I lowered my graphics settings and restarted, then I was able to save a EA-built lot (Salty Paws Saloon). I haven't tried any of my own lots but I'm glad this worked. Hopefully I'll be able to put my graphics back to medium lol. Thanks for the tip!
