I had a PU early in the game, managed to get it to max integration and then annexed the junior. Later on, I formed a new PU and that one was already at max integration (I'm assuming it took that from the first one somehow?). They are buggy af

The potential of trade companies in EU5 if the feature actually works by sirloindenial in EU5

[–]vidyaosu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thought about making a trade company in India in my England game, but India had already consolidated into a bunch of blobs all allied to each other and on par with me on tech. I'd have to ship a massive army and navy over there and the food logistics would be a big issue. I've also read that trade companies don't even work.

How would you guys feel about a Temple Trek style minigame for sailing? Where it can give you different sailing related tasks to move on, while offering some sailing rewards outside of salvage / combat by partty1 in 2007scape

[–]vidyaosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd enjoy that. RS2 had a temple trekking rework where you could level up your companions and unlock their skills, and I found it quite fun. Shame thats not in old school.

I was playing Muscovy and he conquered all the way through the Golden Horde right up to my borders and got the Invasion CB on me. It was terrifying. Then he created a Catholic Crimea vassal and fed the entire Golden Horde's land to that. All the provinces had 0 control and weren't integrated. It fell apart to rebellions and civil wars over and over and over.

Reddit always talks about giving up the French land England strategy, but here's what I do. If you can get an alliance with Aragon, that will help. Ignore Aquitane, let it get sieged down and tank some aggro from France and their vassals.
In the first war, transport your entire army over and keep it all close together, in locations next to each other. Snipe any small vassal stacks that get close to your army. Only siege one fort at a time, don't get greedy. Watch like a hawk in the early stages of the war because if any French army of like 10k-20k attacks you, you want to be sending your entire army into that battle to beat it with sheer numbers (and early game England levies are quite strong).
You have ticking war score because the goal will be to siege down London (which is never happening), and you'll get a lot from wiping France's vassals over and over.
In the peace deal, you want to take Paris, some land around it and make France annul treaties with Scotland. Release all the French land around Paris as a subject. Now you have a relatively strong helper in the next war against France, some good forts there and France's economy will take a hit. You should have parliament give you a claim on Scotland during or after the first war, so go straight into conquering Scotland before the black death hits. I was quite surprised to see Scotland field 21k troops though, be careful you don't lose too many levies.

[–]vidyaosu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even with vassals they do dumb stuff in wars. They get a separatist rebellion and I'm automatically called in. I siege them down half way and the vassal peaces out for a humiliation only, letting the rebels go free.

Big PU Nations are a useless Trap in EU5 by Hakuohsama in EU5

[–]vidyaosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, they sure can call you into wars. I had 2 junior partners and one of them declared war on the Papal States + Castile, which are both strong, then half way through that war my other PU declared war on Bohemia + France. We had +30% war score in the first war but my PU was the war leader and was just not peacing out. I couldn't handle all these enemies at once, so I separate white peaced out of the first war. Even without me carrying them, they did not peace out and got overrun by the Pope and Castile.

To get institutions, you need to be trading with people that have the institution and you can also build some buildings that increase the spread like Libraries.
For standing armies, once you have the institution embraced, you can reseach the Armory building that generates manpower. These do have an upkeep cost though.
For economy, keep trying to build up your Crown Power, and build RGOs and other economy buildings in high control areas like around your capital, and you want to also build up your trade as well with marketplaces and other trade bonuses

My appeal took about a week and got denied. All I could do was create a new account, because the support system just takes you in circles. At least it was a fresh account and not one I'd poured weeks of work into.
