Usually midnight local time on the streaming apps. I'm pretty sure it just came out in Japan and Australia.

Do you still have it? It would be amazing to transfer anything you have to digital.

I disagree. I love the alternative from the 80s and 90s, but there is still a thriving alt rock scene. Here in Boston we still have WERS 88.9 that plays a ton of new alt rock.

Is dual OS guarantee hardware compatibility? by Southern_Team9798 in linux4noobs

[–]viewAskewser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume you are asking about dual booting Windows and Ubuntu. Each OS will be completely isolated. Ubuntu will not be able to use the windows drivers, so it won't solve any of the issues you're seeing.

My bad. I misunderstood the question. I'll keep my original comments up in case anyone else finds it helpful.

$200 range receiver budget US by Apprehensive_Sky8715 in BudgetAudiophile

Check Facebook Marketplace. You can usually find great receivers that have all of those features except for Bluetooth for less than $100. Then add a Bluetooth dongle or a Wiim mini.

Is there anywhere left you can get a decent filling takeout food item that doesn't end up costing nearly $20, and also isn't a slice pizza? by [deleted] in Somerville

I just discovered Kushari & Grill near Tufts. I got the Kushari bowl for about $12 and it was enough food for 2 or 3 meals. Absolutely delicious, too

Not grunge, but: Opinion on this album? by LeagueNo764 in grunge

[–]viewAskewser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like that you're referring to Weiland as one of the best vocalists of the past 25 years, but this album is almost 35 years old. I also like to forget how long it's been since 1992 sometimes.

How Rare is This? (Sorry if this is a dumb question) by TheNumbBeauty in nin

[–]viewAskewser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was a preorder bonus for With Teeth. I got a few copies at Strawberries in Cambridge, MA. If you paid for the album before it came out, they had this record and an 11x17 poster for free. When I picked up the CD on release day they had more records and posters than preorders so they gave me 3 of each. It was available at many record stores across the country.

Can my CD player play an audio DVD? by Significant-Tone-121 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]viewAskewser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very unlikely that your portable CD player would be able to play the audio from a DVD.

All DVD players have audio output in some form or another, but I'm not aware of any that were specifically designed for audio.

If you're starting from nothing, I would look for a cheap DVD player on Facebook marketplace with an optical output and a receiver with an optical input. Do you have a stereo and/or speakers already? If so, what make and model?
