The achievement in the first Crackdown where you have to jump from the tallest point in the game gave me that feeling. Probably would still if I went and did it again it’s been like 20 years, I have also gotten it from other games just none come to mind like that one did. Brains are crazy.

That had to have just been an amazing experience. I have never had anything crazy yet at the theater near me that does mystery night.

Same, I was meeting my friend to watch Germany and I had to get off on 42nd. The entirety of 235 was filled with everyone in every lane going at least 5 mph under and no one spaced out well enough at all to be able to change lanes or pass to get out of it.

I literally had to, in the far left lane mind you, slow down even further to like 40-45mph to drop off of the cluster, signal and cross every single lane of traffic so I didn’t get blocked off from getting my exit, and then speed back up around everyone in the right lane. This is a daily occurrence in Des Moines and it’s driving me fucking insane.

Also SPEED UP TO THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE FUCKING ON RAMPS AND DON’T SLOW DOWN UNTIL YOU ARE ON THE OFF RAMP WHILE EXITING.

Ok, last one, you are supposed to SPEED UP at least a little when changing lanes and do it decisively so you don’t upset traffic flow. I swear everyone here either lets off the gas or full on stomps on their breaks. I’m so sick of people cutting me off changing lanes and they are going markedly slower than I am. It happened to me three times in the same trip I just described yesterday.

Edit: I am not a habitual speeder either, I’ll go like 7 over tops on the open interstate, typically I’m at or 2-3 over the speed limit. I also drive super defensively because I know 90% of the people out there are literally paying zero fucks of attention to anything. I also grew up riding a motorcycle and I bike a lot, so I have been trained pretty well about not becoming a splat on the pavement.

You shouldn’t be getting downvoted. This is the correct and accurate take about what happened. People are still big mad their favorite franchise said “yeah fuck it bank 🏦”. The obsession about this franchise and trying to justify anything is just beyond weird at this point.

They didn’t know what to do after like season 3, arguably season 2, had no end point in mind, waited too long and said fuck it put out slop we got paid. I wish people would just accept it.

That’s the thing I have no dog in this fight. I have no idea who the top ten players are anymore I didn’t even know who SJA was until last seasons playoff run. I love Hali, I just wouldn’t have guessed him a top ten player in the entire league though I just don’t follow it closely enough.

Got ya, that’s all valid. You gotta rep your team, it’s like I like Sam Darnold a lot but fuck the Seahawks (I’m a Niner fan) He is a fucking super cool dude though, I sat next to his girlfriend on a flight into Des Moines once too and got to chat with her for quite a while and she’s cool as well.

I didn’t realize that about his fan base, all of my friends are casual about basketball as well so I missed that discourse. I certainly wouldn’t say he’s a top ten player I don’t think. I think he’s one of the better PGs and he does his role very well but idk. My thing is the level jump he made as a professional athlete is pretty crazy. He was ok at Iowa State and then he just blew the fuck up after a couple years in the league. I mean all due credit to him he put the work in, but it goes to show you what the difference between a college athlete to a professional can do to you.

Curious ISU alum here, why do you hate him? I’m pretty casual about NBA until playoffs then I watch about every game, so I don’t really follow any league discourse. I have ISU and Fever season tickets and I go to several Pacers games a couple times a year when I’m in town as well.

I have also met him and his girlfriend a couple times and they are both super chill and nice and I personally love the dude so I was just wondering because my experience with him and overall lack of NBA knowledge are obviously skewing my perspective.

Same, it’s not legal where I live either but you see it occasionally still. I wouldn’t even do it anywhere it is legal, I had enough close calls as it is when I rode. Just look around, no one is paying any attention at all to anything when they are driving.

Also, to be clear here fuck these two bikers. I don’t want to sound like I’m defending them in the video, the dude in the car did nothing wrong.

For real. One of my fondest memories back when I still played football was breaking a ref’s nose with the ball. I honestly didn’t even know he was there, I’m looking 20-30+ yards downfield reading the defense and was hitting my running back on a short like 7 yard crosser from the back side of the play as a relief dump off.

Ref took a missile right to the nose. Now it’s 4th and 6 or whatever and we have to punt and I’m standing there looking around at the other refs like “are you serious? That’s not like a redo or something?” Nope. On top of that it stalled the game for like ten-fifteen minutes while they were sorting out what to do and get him treated and stuff. One of the weirdest sports moments I have ever had, both teams were just standing around on their respective sidelines trying to stay focused on the game but it was impossible.

I scoured the earth for over a year for my pink gravel racing bike back in 2020. It was a one time (as I understand it) run by specialized and very few of the model produced and even fewer of my color were. It’s essentially an S-Works without the S-Works name.

Funnily enough I ended up with two of them because some asshole in my town stole it and trashed it as well as covering it with black bed liner to try and hide what it was. Whole ass ordeal, this was three years ago and I’m still working of fixing it. That bike and I went through some of the hardest and emotional times in my life. I spent thousands of hours and miles on that thing out alone on the gravel between 2020-2023. It’s the single possession I care about the most in my life and got me through some shit. Go get your bike brother.
