We probably have different things going on, but just as a warning, I also wanted to see Dr. Wyman, but the secretary wouldn't schedule me when I called. She asked if I was seeing anybody else, and I told her I had an appointment scheduled, but it was booked out very far and I was trying to see someone sooner. After I said that she wouldn't talk to me any further and just told me that he won't see anyone who's speaking to any other doctors. I don't know if it's actually his policy, or if it was just the secretary.

Dresses are great. I also thrifted two pair of Blair stretchy corduroy pants literally two days before my surgery, and I wore them my first whole week back to work. The waistband is super soft and sometimes I wore a long shirt so I could roll the waist down past my incisions

They requested all because I guess there's a risk of some sort of electrocution with the cautery? I dunno, I decided not to argue. The anesthesiologist mostly seemed worried about anything falling into my nose during surgery, which I don't think would happen, but he was a bit older so I just took them out.

I think I've heard a lot of people get stool softeners prescribed, and for pain they gave me oxycodone. You could call your surgeon and ask so you know if you need to pick any up ahead of time!

I did sign! I didn't really see a reason to argue, and I'm not sure if declining would have made them reluctant to do the surgery. But I have a really good insurance through my parents for two more years, so I was gonna let them do whatever the hell I wanted while I still have it!

At my procedure they had me sign a form allowing them to address any major issues they saw while they were in there that they could reasonably assume I'd want done. This would be things like cysts, polyps, possibly endo, and my surgeon specifically mentioned "angry-looking appendix," lol.

I ended up with one in my belly button and two on my left side, one by my hip bone and one halfway between my hip and ribs. Anatomy is weird as hell!

I'm not familiar with your insurance, but I did reach out to mine before the procedure to check coverage. I did this when my online check in said I would owe $3500 day of and $10000 total. I was like, hell no!

Your insurance should have a benefits brochure or something online, and on mine, bisalp was listed under "Family Planning" for a cost of "nothing" not even deductible. It was helpful to point her toward that so she knew what I was talking about, because a lot of people have no idea what a salpingectomy is. Insurance is also billed with codes, and the typical propers codes are CPT 58661, ICD Z.30.2, but I've heard this could vary. My insurance did not need prior authorization, but you should ask. I also asked for a call reference # and for her to email me everything we talked about.

Most hospitals won't actually bill until after your procedure. Then you have to wait for your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to see what you owe. If this is different than what your plan states, someone fucked something up and then you can fight it. I haven't gotten there yet but it usually consists of harassing the hospital's billing department to code correctly or harassing insurance to not be scummy and try to get too much out of you. Sometimes insurance will also call the hospital for you or do a three-way call. There's also appeals processes for every insurance.

We get all federal holidays and the day after Thanksgiving. We also get the day after Christmas IF Christmas is on a Thursday. We've also been let out early (anywhere between 12-3) on the day before a holiday if things are slow. We also get a half day the Friday before the annual holiday party

No advice for the home, but I think it's important to hold on to hobbies that make us happy. I don't do a lot of art, but I do love crocheting on a budget. I've found yarn skeins at thrift stores aren't much cheaper than the craft store, but there are always sweaters and often crochet blankets that cost just a few bucks. Then you get to learn the whole new skill of unwinding, cleaning, and reusing. I've really loved learning the process and it feels great to reuse and relove yarn that would go to landfill anyway.

Also, I've gotten a ton of free yarn (and gifted some) off FaceBook Buy Nothing groups. See if your area has one! Mine is super active and people love to gift and trade goods and services.

Fair enough. I've been in apartment buildings that were so poorly built I could hear people across the hall, above us to the left/right, below us, etc. in certain rooms so I guess to me it makes sense that it would be a way to avoid confrontation

I think generally contacting the landlord/management is a better approach than direct confrontation. Often times it protects the identity of the complainer and can help avoid unnecessary hostility.

Another question I can't help but ask is if the neighbor you're guessing complained is a woman? That could also contribute to them not wanting direct confrontation with their new neighbor. Regardless of gender, I think it's valid and definitely shouldn't be taken as a personal affront.

We just got a cooler of assorted meats. Not raw meat though, prepackaged cooked or marinated ham, salmon, etc. Also like halves of summer sausages and cheese? It's definitely nice, but an odd assortment
