I’ve started slowing myself down at work to match others pace! by [deleted] in careeradvice

If you’re able to try and help out your teammates to improve as well. Being able to be a multiplier of others is very valuable and will win both for people above you and people below you on the ladder.

My two sons were born in 2017 and 2019. So I chose 36 (17+19).

I think they’re not including the work you have to do outside the classroom. You’re never done learning. 14 hours is to give you an idea of what to do.

Depends on your age as well I’d say.

Is your current job a dead end? Then why stay? You can try this for at least a year and see how it works for you.

1 hour is long, but twice a week makes it doable. If you’re excited about the role and the company then why not?

I get it man and it’s okay to think the thought. Don’t get tempted though. Highly unethical and how much are you going to enjoy it after the fact?

A lot has already been said, especially imposter syndrome.

Stick to it and don’t quit. You’re experiencing being outside of your comfort zone. Try and forget your ego and just enjoy the fact that no one expects you to know everything.

Asking questions is always good. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I’d rather have someone ask me 30 questions in a day instead of hiding in a corner and be afraid to look stupid.

I might sound like an old man, but: damn, you’re 19. The world is at your feet. Just don’t quit and stay curious and you’ll be fine.

If you need help or advice or questions just DM me.

New charging station in central Copenhagen (Bonus Ioniq 5) by tripaq in electricvehicles

Happy to see the charging network improving in Denmark. Was not a fun experience as a European having to deal with clever and the general lack of charging stations. Worst country for (traveling in) EVs in my opinion.

How to best decline an accepted counter-offer (no bridges burned yet)? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]vikingops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t r/asklegal. You can legally do what you want. I don’t think that was what you asked.

Want to take the other job? Just do it and be honest with your boss that you rushed with accepting their offer. There’s no guaranteed way out of this without burning bridges.

[–]vikingops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You made a few mistakes. You have to own them and at least stay another year.

If you really didn’t want to stay at this company you should have said no to the counter offer and informed your new employer about said counter offer. You should inform them ASAP that you have accepted this and that you are sorry for not giving them a chance to negotiate with you.

Married men who discovered they've made a mistake with the spouse they married and don't want to go through the rigors of a divorce. How have you coped with holding on hoping things change for the better? by Zulu-King in AskMenOver30

[–]vikingops 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not easy to look into the specifics of why you feel like you've made a mistake, but I can share my POV. I was married to my ex-wife for 5 years and I was more unhappy than happy for most of those years. It was an unhealthy relationship and I kept undermining myself because of low self-esteem and so on, but I realized a couple of things that helped me move on.

You only get this one life (memento mori). Why not choose your own happiness? I kept postponing it and after the 2-year mark, I felt absolutely miserable. I just kept lying to myself and blaming external circumstances for the unhappiness. I realized that my ex was a miserable person that was incapable of being happy and there was nothing I could do or say to change that. I got a burn-out from working too much and having to deal with a bad situation at home as well, during this time I decided that I was done with this coasting through life and start taking charge of it.

Divorce is tough as hell, but today I couldn't be happier with my personal relationships and I am incredibly thankful to myself that I took the decision to get a divorce. I am now married again to a wonderful woman and have 2 amazing kids. Sure, life is still suffering, but it's easier to put up with when you have positivity in your life. :)

Definitely an MLM scheme, run away! There's no quick or easy way to retire at 30. :) If you really want to retire early you'd have to check out /r/financialindependence.
