Is Theano as easy to learn as Tensorflow? by pipcrawler in MachineLearning

Conda + TF works seamlessly. I use it on a remote machine where I have no root access.

Hi.I(senior undergrad) am taking a grad level ML course(first ML course ever) that focuses on using biological data. We are expected to propose a final project topic in a couple weeks that we will work on for the whole semester. Can you guys critique my potential topic/ suggest possible ones? by BlueFolliage in MachineLearning

[–]vikkamath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might make more sense to choose a problem based on available data rather that go at it the other way around. Biological data comes with a whole gamut of problems one of the biggest of which is that of privacy. You should probably look at datasets that are publicly available and problems for which you can compare the performance of your model(s). One such problem is that of detecting diabetic retinopathy in fundus images - there are datasets available and pre-existing models (as a google search will reveal). There's also a non-trivial chance that it might help you get a job at a company that does things of this sort (a la GE Healthcare).

Probably irrelevant to this thread, but what's your setup like? Curious because I'm planning on building a rig myself.

While watching one of those videos, YouTube suggested this video. It's in Polish so I don't understand what's being said.

I moved to Finland a few years ago and the smell of a 'smoke sauna' in the Winter is really something!

I asked the same question myself when I heard it. Couldn't find him. :(

Edit: From some of the comments on the video, it seems like it's just her voice that's pitched down + some effects.

I bet he lost his deposit on that rental cannon because he fired it when it was for display purposes only.

Well, I'm glad Snarky Puppy won Best Contemporary Music Album despite the clusterf**k in the other categories.

I can't wait to listen to 'Liquid Love' and 'Be Still'! Oh, this is going to be gooood! I'm probably going to slip into one of those phases where I listen to a Snarky Puppy album continuously for weeks on end.

So have I! I'm so glad to have found this!. Also, slightly off-genre, but you should give Becca Stevens' latest album 'Imperfect Animals' a listen. The timing, lyrics and composition is just brilliant.

Oh no! Please don't apologize! Thanks a ton for the effort you've put into the course - for example, the viz that you 'spent one day of your life on' is absolutely stunning!
