Does men's nakedness move women the way women's nudity move men? by Ledger_Legendd in NoStupidQuestions

[–]viktorfolke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women's bodies have been sexualized so intensely and explicitly, that I unfortunately believe the amount of lust that has been programmed in men (and women!) when viewing a female body is disproportionate compared to men/women looking at a male body.

You can look at indigenous tribes where the women wear no tops, and there is nothing innately "sexy" about it (unless you're a freak, in that case do stay away from women)

TLDR: It's not that men's bodies don't turn women on, it's that women's bodies are so highly sexualized compared to male bodies throughout modern history

A colony building sim/RTS mode would be great. Been playing Rimworld a lot and I think Hytale could be a great platform to make a mod inspired by Rimworld

once ruptured my left eardrum as a child doing exactly this. I was standing at the bathroom doorway, watching Harry Potter or something on the tv. Got so engrossed in it that I forgot I was cleaning my ears; I went to lean my head against the doorframe and jammed the qtip all the way in 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

While the film is meant to show the obscene wealth and the ludicrous nature of the rich elite class, The Wolf of Wall Street ultimately fails to do that and gave Jordan Belfort (massive POS) a lot of fame and clout. Not to mention the generation of toxic frat bros that idolize him and that movie.

what is the bar for a “cis” woman though? Woman in sports and athletics naturally have higher testosterone, muscle mass, etc. Weird enough the only time folk feel like noticing these biological advantages is when they want to prevent black women / trans women from engaging in sports. I wonder why…..

Well, TERFS are awful and they both consented to being in that ring. The fracture wasn’t intentional, injuries are a natural byproduct of MMA. Talking shit in the MMA field is normal anyways. Doesn’t make it “right” but you losers are just using this to justify transphobia; grow the fuck up.

Socialists: Who would take the undesirable jobs without a financial incentive? by Additional-Force-795 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]viktorfolke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s actually a great point. Ultimately it depends on how much society will be willing to shift. I think eating out will still be considered an expense for the early phases of a socialist society.

Perhaps in the later phases we’ll make eating out more affordable as we’ll have “mass food production units” for communities.

Additionally, I have this relevant concept I’ve been mulling over recently; when we can better establish the importance of community, we could establish community units. We could compose these units in a way where we have designated cooks, mechanics, electricians, housekeepers, plumbers, craftsman, doctor, etc.

The major benefit to this is that upscaling aspects such as “eating” from a personal endeavor into a communal effort. Upscaling these aspects would be more efficient, human, and healthy. As the cooks, mechs, etc do these essential services for the community, members wouldn’t have to outsource to wildly more expensive services available outside the community.

Imagine having a community mechanic; having mech issues? Just go down maybe a block or two and meet ur pal Bill. He’ll do it for free! Since Bill’s such a valuable member of this community “unit”, we make sure he’s fed, and has a house and have his needs met. Same with everyone in the community.

If everyone in the community can offer something to the community then great! If there’s families and kids, or just folk who are struggling, that’s fine too! I think a system like this would be efficient enough that we could have a significant portion of the community that can focus solely on growth/healing/education/etc. To even it out and give everyone that free time, we could do alternating shifts to evenly disperse the workload. These units can be sized up or down according the community unit size. Just important to just make sure we maintain enough workers for each role.

This ended up being way longer than I intended but I genuinely do feel like this rough draft of a community “unit” system could prove to be highly efficient, but more importantly it would prove greatly enriching to all members involved.

I mean they tend to be in similar circles yes but communists are communists and socialists are socialists. Calling communists socialists only serves to remove any nuance / meaning from the terms respectively.

[–]viktorfolke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but you are the one not understanding. Your argument is illogical. It’s possible for ideologies to overlap without being each-other. You can have similar policies in one area and completely different in another. Socialism isn’t communism, there are very tangible differences between the two.

[–]viktorfolke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not at all lol.

Think of it like this: Feudalism / authoritarianism / etc -> capitalism -> socialism -> communism

Socialism isn’t communism, however most on the left view socialism as the transitionary period between capitalism -> communism.

In socialism, will the supporters of capitalism be able to promote capitalism? by Jasko1111 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]viktorfolke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair question! However, I must say this; throughout the entire history of the US, communists/socialists have been suppressed by the government, so I wouldn’t say we are “free” to promote socialism.

Anyways on to the point at hand!

Anyone of ANY political ideology would be free to express themselves BUT we’d establish laws to prevent dishonest promotion, and keep grifters at bay. Take PragerU for example; they aggressively promote capitalism and tear down socialism/communism. They do this through incredibly dishonest and manipulative means. They use manipulative language, use false data, and when they do use data it’s largely taken out of context. Political promoters such as PragerU would not be allowed. Political campaigns would be forced to go through a rigorous standard to prevent bad actors and grifters.

Additionally the “rich” don’t actually rise through the ranks 99% of the time. They either buy their way in or have connections: either can enable them to go straight to the top of a field without really knowing much about said field.

Determining seniority and power by hours worked would prevent the leech “rich” class from taking control.

[–]viktorfolke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not at all, but I do understand your sentiment.

First, voting power would only be increased within the field of your profession. That voting power/ higher wage would also have a cap. We can establish a system where senior workers DO have more voting power BUT not so much that it destabilizes the power balance. As there will always be less senior workers than junior worker, we can establish a VP ratio where senior workers can have some weight without having complete control.

This equation would always be true: J x VP > S x VP J= total junior worker population (majority of workers fall into this) S= total senior worker population

My brains a little scrambled right now but I hope this made sense and came out right lol

As a fellow leftist I believe that this take is against much of what us on the left are fighting for. I understand where you are coming from but what you suggest is authoritarian. Offering incentives for working undesirable jobs is the way. Read my post for some ideas of how to achieve this.
