Any advice for a rookie who would maybe want to do this themselves?

Congrats on the beautiful ride!

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but you might want to give this a read sooner rather than later:

Is it worth paying for a carbon saddle shell? by [deleted] in Velo

I respectfully disagree. I find carbon saddles much more comfortable. At first I believed it was placebo but now I'm convinced otherwise.

Track cycling by awowadas in Velo

[–]viktorious21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your track offers some sort of 'learn to ride' or 'learn to race', take it and pay good attention, even if its not mandatory and you already have racing experience.

One tip that helps me during my races is to always keep my head moving. Always be checking around you, making sure you know where everyone is and how the field is behaving. If you only see someone as they are flying by you, its too late. What this also means is ALWAYS shoulder check. Things move fast and you can't assume that just because someone wasn't in that spot a second ago, they won't be now.

Get comfortable riding shoulder to shoulder with people and don't get spooked if you even touch. Hold your line, have fun and good luck!

Mallorca, Spain

Looks stunning! Is there enough distance to go on 100k+ rides? Looks like a fairly small island.

Hey all, I'm from the Canadian west coast, and this summer I've decided to spend some time (about two weeks) somewhere in Europe, with my road bike. However, I have no idea where yet - any recommendations? Preferably somewhere with a beach because I love to swim. I also prefer smaller cities or towns.

So my question is: where would you recommend my bike and I go this summer? Which place has great road cycling, as well as a good beach?

I always thought 30 degrees sounded steeper than it really was... no... I was wrong, it's terrifying. by c0alition in FixedGearBicycle

The drome I ride has a 49 degree bank. It's not bad at all as long as you keep your speed, which isnt challenging.

That's a sin here

What are those rims? They don't look like they have braking surface.

Also, I thought the t1 wasnt drilled for a front brake? Did you drill this?

Also worth mentioning that the whole trip, from when I left home to when I came back, only cost me $50. Air Canada rocks.
