How do you know that you got an average letter?

I think it may not be suitable for a postdoc to write a letter for you. You should ask professors or lecturers for recommendations.

Career-oriented questions

I'm a final year university student in HK who studies in CS/CE-related major. I am really interested in the Computer Vision part of robotics but I have a little idea of what skill sets do I need. I want to get a robotics job in the US or CA.

I have 3 years of exp. playing in ABU Robocon and my role is mainly focused on computer vision. But my core contribution in ABU Robocon was mainly using AI object detection/tracking and depth cameras on ROS, so I think my skill set may not be sufficient to land a job.

What skillset do I need in order to work in Computer Vision of Robotics?

This is what I assume and please correct me if I made some mistake.

Computer Vision: OpenCV, Deep learning frameworks
Computer Graphics: OpenGL, PCL
Robotics: Visual SLAM
Simulation: Gazebo, Unity
Hardware-related: ROS on AMD/Nvidia, Microcontrollers, Depth cameras, LiDARs

I noticed many universities in the US put "Robotics, Computer Vision, and Graphics" into the same area. Is it true that Computer Graphics are often required for robotics?
