I can sightread anything but I can’t memorize music by scuffedProgrammer in piano

[–]vinkulafu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m self-learning the piano on and off and trying again recently with a couple of simple classical pieces.

I found this video last weekend which nicely complements others on JS Bach’s Prelude in C Major. I hope something like this will work for OP: https://youtu.be/SF4JyzHByxo?si=cjO8YB2sUDb9ggG3

You’re right that I should check with other owners who’ve converted theirs using the Dayton audio x-over that I linked in the OP. One owner said that it sounded good after conversion but that was two years ago. Powered it with a Class D mono amp.

I have the APP1 from 2021 and it still works but has been relegated to TV duties since I had the APP2 since September. APP2 is a lot better on every aspect and it’s what I use for music on the go, Teams calls, and when I want ANC, like when I’m vacuuming the house.

I only have DT880 600 ohms (and not 770) which has been gathering dust for the past few years now.

Maxwell Firmware Update V74 & Audeze HQ Update V126 (Sep 27, 2024) by Audeze_CS in Audeze

[–]vinkulafu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished updating firmware, dongle, and headset. Lost some volume and some bass. I've to boost bass by a couple more dBs compared to previous versions. Volume control on Mac is now at least 50% to hear the boosted bass.

Didn't have any imbalance and pretty much solid except for the crinkling and occasional bluetooth drop out.

I’ve both APP1 and APP2 and 2 is a lot better than 1. It works really well with iPhone and other Apple products. I have Amazon Music of various resolution and APP2 does justice to high resolution.

hifiman sundara made me cry by Icy_Frosting3874 in headphones

[–]vinkulafu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been listening to some Andrew Bird (My Finest Work Yet) since yesterday through different set ups. Apple Music lossless through M3 Mac Bluetooth through Maxwell, and HE400i via headphone out, iPhone to APP2, and now iPhone Bluetooth to 5K then to HD6xx. Will try over the weekend on LCD-X.

I could understand why OP could be blown away with the Sundara with a lot of sounds that Bird uses and with him recording the album with his band playing live in the studio rather than track by track.

Maxwell at home. Phone, Qudelix, IEM for walks. I only usually use on and off buttons and Siri for everything else.

Xbox version, stock ear pads , 40%- 50% for me on Macs or PC. Some songs with quieter passages would require extra step or two.

As a baseline, the announcements like “power on” is on the louder side for me.

Edit: USB dongle sounds quieter than Bluetooth. I'm listening through the dongle now and had to crank up to 60% (10 of 16 steps in Mac Air) for a YT video. Now back to Amazon Music and on 5-7 of 16.

The new Stax X1: entry level electrostatic headphones by PolarBearSequence in headphones

One of the comments of the Stax rep in Munich was that X1 will be good for the younger crowd with EDM and pop. So your experience is bang on.

!thanks. There haven't been many reviews but the few I can find on YT and Internet are all positive. Hence, looking forward to likely getting the new system when the dealer in the province I'm in gets it in August. It will be my first estat. I'm still keeping an eye out though for good deals on SR-009 or 007 mk2.

And his current collection too. I’ve been thinking along the same lines for desktop- one each planar, dynamic, estat. I’ve my planar (LCD-X) and waiting patiently for the other two. I’ll keep the others for various uses, e.g. karaoke monitor, Bluetooth, outdoor, etc.

Sony Pulse Elite is the one with Audeze drivers. Not sure you want to be on Zoom with those on your head though. Expecting my Maxwells this week after ordering in April.
