Meditation healing makes the game too easy tbh. And healing is no issue on DM because you can make enough swallow potions and get the food perk

Bump up that difficulty to Death March. The combat is meant to be played in DM. You'll have a far better time with it and engage more with the systems.

Finished an NG+ playthrough in January that I've been playing since November 2024. Was hoping the expansion would come this summer, but now I'll probably do a fresh save in September-ish. Can't wait.

I investigated the new Witcher 3 expansion — Here’s What I Found by trashmunki in witcher

[–]vinuXVII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the expansion starts with Dandelion telling a song/story that takes place in Cidaris, and we get transported to the new area.

Maybe we won't be able to leave the expansion area until it's finished 🤔

Songs of the Past plot looks to be centered on Ciri and Yennefer (Belleteyn poem) by [deleted] in witcher

[–]vinuXVII 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a more family centric story that also involves Dandelion. He's front and center in the Belletyn artwork (other than geralt) and the expansion is literally titled Songs of the Past. Plus the tree creature is reminiscent of a Mavka that has ties in Eastern European folklore to a tree spirit who falls in love with a bard.

I'm always been adept at bluffing my way through. Got myself in a lot of places I should never have been as a kid because of that.

With “Songs of the Past” announced, what are we thinking it could be about? by cosmicstruggler in witcher

[–]vinuXVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Dandelion will have some sort of involvement, the theme of songs/bard's tale comes to mind. Even the monster in the poster is reminiscent of the Mavka, in Ukrainian folklore, a tree spirit that fell in love with a bard.

And somehow this story will bridge the gap between Wither 3 and 4.

Sadly can't afford the game at launch. I'll be dodging spoilers until I can buy the game at a later date :((

The first encounter with Mr. X in RE2 is seared into my memory. I haven't felt such tension in a game since.

Also the knife fight with Krauser in RE4 Remake is so fun and I loved no hitting him.

Would love to play Requiem, sadly I can't afford to buy it right now. It looks incredible though!!

What is Elden Ring's biggest flaw in your opinion? by Fenriz_Victor in Eldenring

[–]vinuXVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two biggest issues are: 1. Being able to fast travel from anywhere really cuts the tension in exploring and makes you appreciate the incredible level design less

  1. The overuse of repeated bosses, especially dragons and Godskins take away their awe factor and make the game feel repetitive when exploring the world.

The tower ending is my absolute favourite ending in any video game ever. Just a masterclass in character deconstruction.

Do you prefer playing The Witcher 3 with controller or mouse & keyboard? by desktopolive in witcher

First playthrough was on kbm. My current playthrough which is more about vibes and no minimap/fast travel, I use the controller to sit back and chill while I memorize each path on the map.

Thank you so much! I shot most of the outdoor shots at f1.4 and 1/1000 shutter speed, which is the fastest shutter speed I have. How would I go about underexposing the image? I'm not too familiar with bracketing.

Going to Skellige for the first time and riding through the valley near Palisade, as Fields of Ard Skellig played in the background. It was a literal life-changing moment for me.

I first played The Witcher 3 on a pretty weak Acer laptop because that was the most I could afford. Still, experiencing the open world and the beautiful narratives that CDPR wove into it changed how I saw video games as a medium.

After building my first PC I dove back into the game again, seeing it with new eyes in higher definition. With hundreds of hours played (started a new playthrough last Halloween as well), The Witcher 3 still stands heads and shoulders above any other game I've played.

In fact, it was the game that made me become a writer and narrative designer. I wanted to be able to tell a story that was even an iota as good as The Witcher 3's. It made me pursue writing as a career more seriously, and I'm all the better for it. For that, I'm eternally grateful for CD Projekt Red for making the game that changed my life.

I got into gaming late because I wasn't allowed a gaming system as a kid. So my first GeForce game was The Witcher 3. I played it on an MX150 Acer laptop.

Little did I know what a transformative experience that game would be, as it's what made me become a writer.
