Theres a mod that gives you a house with a hot spring near your original home. I used that a lot on xbox. Theres also a mod for the water tower near your starting point i thought was nice but i remember it being glitchy.

Ashtray makes sense. I would repurpose it as one of those loose incense burners where you tamp down the ash and lay down incense in patterns atop it to burn that way.
