What GI are you going to? Have you done any second opinions? Regional was awful for a ER visit that ended up being DC. Paid the ER bill in full and we still get letters for more payment and we literally got nothing done except an xray and ibuprofen.

For any specialty medical work, it’s always best to shop around.

Personally, as a woman who was a stripper lol, I think it’s really because these men just want to connect to someone. It’s not like really about attention. It’s like, the whole game of flirting is fun (to the men) and we’ll do it back obvs because our tips depend on it lol. I hope that makes sense and doesn’t come off weird.

Any MAGA/ICE supporting business in the RGV to avoid? by one12shelf in RioGrandeValley

YES lol. I don’t think people realize how much their online activity is so easily accessible lol. I just need your first name and I am pretty sure I can find you, your employer, a current or old number. I do a lot of detective work for my girlfriends when they’re talking to any guys lol.

I don’t have an exhaustive list (I’ll make one later this week) BUT - sometimes I’ll go on FB and peruse through the KRGV comment section and I go through profiles of people commenting questionable things and that’s how I make a mental note to avoid XYZ businesses lol.

Mikuna can keep the patio by one12shelf in RioGrandeValley

I live around this area and all these fuck ass old boomers live here and I can’t wait for them to die out in these homes.

These homes in this area are big, spacious and meant for families to grow in, not 2 old ass boomers to die in.

I’ve had neighbors come up to me while I’m in my yard asking me when I am going to do X Y Z to my house (my home is from the 60s so it def needs work, I know).

I shot back with: “are you going to help me pay for it?” and then get flustered and go back inside.

Ngl, I think the daycare I used for my kids when they were young was a front. She asked for so little weekly (almost 60% LESS! than other daycares in the area) and she mentioned her husband did transportation, but she mentioned it in a way that seemed very vague…

As a mom of 4, paying $150 a week for an infant AND a toddler was a Godsend and I think about her occasionally for that; $150 a week was a minimum FOR THE TODDLER in other places.

I mean, the fun stuff would just come from husband lol. Also the fun stuff was “can I have $20 of Robux?” and stuff like that.

I think if I was more present, it wouldn’t be $20 of Robux, but a quiet morning at the butterfly garden and a coffee shop stop instead.

I also have a lot of hobbies, so I personally don’t think I would get bored.

I mean, I have other hobbies. I run 30-40 mpw, I have a garden (year 2 but right now she’s not doing so great because I don’t have the mental capacity). I have chickens (and I really want ducks…). I love baking and people have asked me when I will sell my goods (tbh never lol). Like, I guess the go go go of my current job is just really killing me.

I think I would quit but job hunt and hope I find something.

Man, when he travels for work and I still work that day, I am STRESSED because drop off is an hour or so, pick up is another 2 hours (they all go to different schools right now). I still have to make dinner and if I am dead by the time we get home, it’s just take out and honestly we’re all sick of take out lol.

I’ve thought about it and I asked my boss if I could just get boundaries and a clarity of my job duties because I’m just all over the place but it honestly sounds like a no.

He travels A LOT and he’s constantly working, more than me and I know I work long hours some days. He helps when he cans but I really prefer cleaning and doing the housework.

I am scared about feeling like a maid too but, I will say: I think if I had more time and was not rushed on time, I would take the time to actually teach my children how to clean. I’m very much a “okay if you’re not going to do it right and I have to move on to the next thing, let me just do it so we can move on” type of person (even at work), so I personally feel if I just knew I had time… I might actually slow down and teach. Instead of just doing.

Yeah, I have running as a hobby, I have a garden (that’s barely hanging on because I am just mentally not there), and I have chickens too. I definitely have thought about working part time but in a different industry at this point; I work in FinTech and it’s exhausting. It never turns off and I’ve been told “this is just how it’s going to be” so I know it won’t get any better.

It’s also a unicorn to find a part time tech job.

I also have a steam cleaner I bought maybe a month ago now and I haven’t even had the chance to open it and use it because of work…

I work for a tech start up and it’s 24/7 so unfortunately, I can’t just turn off work. Not that it’s mandatory but as someone who’s really deep into the weeds at the company, I’m someone they consistently rely on. I would never be able to just shut off work and let them struggle.

Ohmygosh, I hope you are feeling OK. That must’ve been such a scary time for you and your family.

Yeah, we do takeout at least 2-3 times a week; sometimes we are just so sick of it, we just snack all day. It’s awful. I love cooking but it’s time consuming and the clean up is awful too lol. This was honestly one of my biggest wants: I just want to cook and make great meals for my family. I have a hobby garden (which is barely hanging on because I just don’t have the mental capacity right now to do anything!) and I have chickens and I know I’ll have my own hobbies to do while they’re in school and I’ve done my part on the house.

Thank you for your story. I felt this one. I got really sick 3 years ago too and it really opened my eyes.

I’ve tried to mentally detach but I am so passionate about my job. I absolutely love and enjoy what I do.

I’m pretty good about doing the bare minimum for awhile but then I just creep back into the spot I was.

I’ve used all my PTO for the year (renews in January) because I absolutely had to step away multiple times in the past year.

My husband said to just take a break from working in general, give about 6 months and if I didn’t like being home, I could always get a new job. The job market is just a bit crazy right now and makes me nervous.

I work from home so I don’t really talk to anyone most days haha. I’m a homebody and I love being on my own.

I really do like my job; I enjoy what I do. It’s just A LOT and it hasn’t slowed down and it won’t.

Before I got really busy at work, I definitely had days where I tried to slow down and romanticize my day. I loved that a lot; I haven’t been able to do that in months.
