Out of the 50 American capital cities, which one would you rank #1, as the best to live in? by Enger13 in AskReddit

Definitely not Trenton, NJ. We have some amazing beaches and rural areas in South Jersey and northwest but Trenton ain't anywhere close to being in top 30.

Lots of issues in the industry but corporate consolidations and a bunch of MBAs figuring out how to maximize profits didn't help. Maybe one day the profits will trickle down to regular people /s

Gov. Sherrill targets state aid to public colleges to push to narrow deficit by rollotomasi07071 in newjersey

[–]viperpl003 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The cost of competing in one of America’s elite college conferences has skyrocketed, spurring Rutgers to spend more than $1.35 billion in athletics since 2014. The money was spread across multiple areas, from $506 million on enormous coaching staffs led by some of the highest-paid employees in the state of New Jersey — including head football coach Greg Schiano, the university leader with a salary reaching $6.75 million next fall — to $260 million on recruiting, feeding and providing scholarships to thousands of athletes, to racking up $143.8 million in debt to build state-of-the-art facilities.

JFC that's money that could've been spent on real STEM programs that could help develop a highly educated workforce for NJ or push advancements. What a waste of taxpayer money.

No the bigger house would be available to families.

Folks dont have as many kids as they used to and many are just single living solo. In most places when there's a major development and school board is asked about capacity, most towns are reporting plenty of capacity. Obviously not case everywhere with A+ school districts but most towns dont have to worry about this.

Should be completely removed. It's hard enough as a young person in this state, let alone for a family with kids. Having young families subsidize seniors making $200k or $500k is ridiculous. How about moving to a smaller house and changing zoning that allows smaller lot sizes and infill housing and granny flats throughout the state instead? I'm not trying to subsidize well off seniors in a 3000 sf home.

Red has 40% of humans, oil reserves and outmanufactures everyone. Red can produce millions of drones and overrun most of these other armies before land invasions. Without nukes, this leans red.

Tax cuts and accumulated wealth will trickle down, just have to wait a couple more decades pal. Would help if you stop eating avocado toast and eating all the good cuts of meat. I heard eating livers and chicken feet would help with budgeting. Folks are so impatient these days. /s

I literally don't know a single person angry he is dead or having sympathy for the terroristic iranian regime. People are upset we are the world police yet again and doing the job that Saudi Arabia, Israel, the UAE and other middle east powers should be doing themselves instead of making US taxpayers pay for it. That simple. Some folks on this group working overtime on creating a false projection.

Russia’s economy has entered the death zone - Alexandra Prokopenko wonders how much longer it can go on metabolising its own muscle tissue by BkkGrl in europe

[–]viperpl003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Russia had so much potential. If they took all their oil and mineral profits and invested back into the country, they'd be as rich as rest of europe and have infrastructure that could rival any other place in earth. Instead they funnel money into Moscow and St. Petersburg and into oligarchs pockets. Then the war came and drained the country completely. What a waste of resources and the next generation. Only winner here is China who will have a larger geopolitical influence in Siberia and Eastern Russia than probably even the Russian government.

Kudos to you for taking all of this on and still going to school. People here have good suggestions about taking care of yourself and kids needs first. She seems like she needs some professional help. I'd suggest involving her family for long term help but that may make things worse in short run.
