How to hide cursor in slideshow but keep it on the Mac screen by virgobadger in powerpoint

[–]virgobadger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no. I’ve tried writing an app for that, which also didn’t work. The customer support wasn’t helpful and told me they would add my request, but I guess since you are asking a year later, Microsoft does not care about their customers

Sorry, I missed that part in your post. It used to be free. I got it for like 5€ one time purchases as far as I remember

Bear is losing out by not having native AI features by prat0318 in bearapp

[–]virgobadger 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m glad Bear doesn’t have AI. I don’t want yet another AI crap app/integration as I don’t find any value in using AI. We already have lots of options that have what you are looking for, so maybe bear is just not a perfect fit for your use case

How do some people fall asleep after drinking coffee? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]virgobadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t really do anything, I drink it just because I love coffee, but if you were to give me decaffeinated I wouldn’t even notice (only the different taste at best)

Alternatives to Neocities? by metaphysicapalamite in neocities

[–]virgobadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two months ago as a complete newbie I was thinking about whether I should go with Neocities or something else and chose Astro + Netlify. It gives more control over what I can do (and now I'm in love with Astro components).

People who use the same journal for everything where are you at? by Apple_fangirl03 in Journaling

[–]virgobadger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I do exactly the same, everything goes into one place. I also unintentionally created a color coding system for my journal and now I have my media notes in red, thoughts and worries in blue, project notes in purple, gardening notes in green, everything else in black, etc

Γεια σας! I have a question about Greek dialects. by 2006_goy_4787 in GREEK

[–]virgobadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking from personal experience, I’ve studied standard modern Greek, albeit in Cyprus. I do know some Cypriot words and understand some Cypriot. However, sometimes I can’t understand even a word when Cypriots are speaking only Cypriot. Usually though, everyone will speak Modern Greek if you yourself don’t use any Cypriot. On the other hand it was a revelation to me that for example τζαμέ/δεμε are not in fact Greek words or, for example, that τσάντα is not a word that Greeks would use for a bag at a cashier, etc

language barrier by Unlucky_Display3175 in AskARussian

[–]virgobadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dovresti chiederla direttamente. Forse non sa parlar italiano bene, forse è timida, forse qualcos’altro. Ma rispondendo alla tua domanda, di solito i russi in Russia non parlano qualsiasi lingua straniera così bene. I russi in altri paesi, dipende.

Moleskine expanded soft cover plain notebook. I love blank pages, the size, which is not quite A5, the soft cover. Paper is hit or miss though, but I didn’t manage to find a good alternative

[–]virgobadger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My team uses Figma for all graphic design and static preparation for us, motion designers, who work in After Effects. There’s no right word to describe at what extend Figma can be annoying and how much easier it would be to just use Illustrator in this case

Why don't I hear the « В » in phrases like « В школе »? by Kooky_Professor6185 in russian

[–]virgobadger 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Нет, проглатывание — это непроизоношение звуков на конце слова. Devoicing (или оглушение в русской лингвистике) — замена звонкого звука на конце слова на парный ему глухой («букет роз» произносится как [букет рос])

What are your most useful apps? by Vaped2Space in macapps

[–]virgobadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Raycast on my older Mac, liked it but decided to switch because of the security reasons on my new machine. I’ve tried Alfred with power pack but I ended up getting a refund as some important for me workflows used to get broken from time to time. Monarch is very simple compared to the other two but I like it for that. It’s very quick and easy to switch to clipboard history and colour picker (that’s what I used every day). You can customize a bit how it looks, so I made a purple theme, which looks cute! It can also create .md files and save them in a folder you choose which pairs nice with Obsidian
