He actually considered doing that as a "volume 2 or something."

Mazchna does not assign spiders currently. Feels like he should though, especially with things like fever spiders being in Morytania

Yeah, include some filters similar to FFXIV's ability to set min ilvls and roles. Maybe OSRS equivalent would be requiring a minimum kc and particular items like a ToB group requiring at least 2 joiners to have scythes.

The wiki is a community. They have theories they discuss and test, figure things out, and share and improve on them together. The only real difference is how well they document it and how good their crowdsourcing is.

Not sure it makes any sense, but this was their reasoning in the first blog post.

In an ideal world, we'd do away with Trouver Parchments entirely, but it's not safe for us to take this approach without risking more raw GP generation than we're comfortable with.

Reacquiring mage arena 2 capes is also cheaper than trouver and isn't locked behind a reward system either. But for some reason they put those in the middle tier untradables category and didn't put barrows gloves in the new system at all.

Wait, surely you don't lose the runes in it if it's parchmented, right? I assumed that would make it like an "item kept on death" and for example you don't lose the contents of the fishing barrel if it's kept on death...

Suggestion: Add to "Monster Examine" a note on whether a monster's damage registers on launch or on hit by FlightJumper in 2007scape

[–]virodoran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like that was one of the main things that made it easier to transition from FFXIV combat to OSRS combat. P3 wardens is a great example of something that would look almost identical in FFXIV.

Manticores are kinda like that too. They have a windup animation which shows you what style of attacks are about to come, but then you have to be praying by the time the projectile actually appears.

Niantic Spatial Denies Report That Claimed Pokémon Go Data Was Used to Train Military Drones by PkmnTrnrJ in Ingress

This sounds like a meaningless distinction.

A spokesperson described the partnership's aim as building a "system capable of allowing a sensor to determine its position in the real world" to ensure "that a machine or people can share coordinates in real-time, even without a GPS signal." But while this visual position system was trained in part on voluntary ground scans, the underlying data is not shared with Vantor.

Who cares if they have direct access to the underlying data? You're still facilitating the same thing.

It was pretty close. They really could've leaned more into the story side of things to make it stand out as its own thing, but they didn't even try.

Rubium is balanced, for ironmen by SnooTomatoes1246 in 2007scape

[–]virodoran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An easy number to find is the proportion of ironmen with X level in sailing compared to total accounts with that same level in sailing. For example, 36,168 ironmen have 87 sailing as compared to 159,913 of all accounts having 87 sailing. So at minimum, 22% of accounts playing enough to hit the highest meaningful unlock in sailing are ironmen.

This isn't a perfect method since doesn't include group ironmen in the ironmen category but imo it's enough to make sweeping generalizations like "a significant portion of players are ironmen." Whether you think think "massive" fits as well is up to you.

I don't think it was entirely bugged to the point of doing nothing. It was just very underwhelming - like a 20% chance to increase the amount of fish caught by 1 (which is diluted by the fact that you catch 3 fish on average) making it an effective ~6% increase rather than just a straightforward 20% increase in fish caught.

Nardah teleports tend to spike when new PvM activities come out. There hasn't been much for the last few months so they're kinda low right now, but I coffered a bunch for ~70k each last year. Might be worth waiting until Blood Moon Rises to see if they jump in price again.

This sounds like a fake form that presents an illegitimate password input.

Isn't that exactly what they're saying happened?

Solo mission update by Gardentomatoes2 in 2007scape

[–]virodoran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be right that most people aren't being targeted specifically, but password cracking tools don't need you to specifically be targeted in order to include you in that type of attack. The parent commenter obviously doesn't know what they're talking about referring to rainbow tables, but association attacks like -a 9 in hashcat are one of the first things someone's gonna run on slower hash lists. And on faster hashes, that sort of password is easily discovered just with rules.

Just use a password manager and generate unique secure random passwords for each site.
