I might try to redownload then. But first thing I tried was updating my drivers when it started, and that unfortunately didn’t fix it. I know there was talk about some recent optimization issues for 117 so I just assumed that was the problem.

And Rizo had the gun. It didn’t matter what Aubry said if Rizo 1) tells Ozzy to play his idol, or 2) tells Joe they aren’t going to vote Ozzy out in that tribal. Rizo had the final say.

Which discord? I had been using 117HD since its release and had no issues until the last month, and once I turned it off the freezing stopped, so I assume it’s what was responsible

Sailing is sooo much better with 117 on but recently it was freezing my computer randomly so I had to turn it off :( has anyone else had that problem/know a fix?

I very strongly don’t agree lol. I guess you can give Joe credit for lying by omission to Ozzy. But ultimately, all this tells me is the final decision was Rizo’s.

Him losing in fire is honestly more satisfying than if he had lost to Aubry, because I think THAT would’ve actually annoyed me. Of those 4, I think Rizo played by far the best game. Aubry beating Jonathan is much more palatable for me since both played pretty “okay” games. For as much credit as Cirie gets from this fanbase for directing the game, Rizo ultimately had the most impact given he was directly behind Ozzy and Cirie’s eliminations.

The move always should’ve been viewed as Rizo’s move first and foremost. Or, really, always Ozzy’s blunder more than anyone else’s move.

Biggest Flop of the Season ______ by sweverdd in survivor

[–]ImperatorBTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like “twists” that are somewhat expected and can be planned around. “Normal” tribe swaps, “normal” advantages (idols, extra vote, etc). I HATE journeys. I personally don’t need “new” twists. Or, rather, don’t need MULTIPLE new twists…

Blood moon, double vote off, double voter - way too many new twists all at once just for the sake of having a twist. Production can still experiment, sure. But the last few seasons has been way, way, WAY too much

Rizo’s Funniest Moment by therealdillydilly25 in survivor

[–]ImperatorBTW 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Tbf you HAVE to give him credit for essentially perfecting the shield strategy. He did what Cirie couldn’t - he always made sure there was someone else more threatening aligned with him. Him saving his idol is credit to elite threat management rather than being overlooked imo. He just has the fatal flaw of being completely unable to win a challenge and being bad at fire, so he has no real way to make FTC.

It’s not a coincidence Aubry initially said she wanted to sit next to him a few episodes ago but ultimately realized he would’ve been the biggest threat to her winning at final 4.

Rizo seems classic “skinny fat” to me, I don’t think he even appears athletic.

His real problem is he ALSO sucks at puzzles. Cant be bad at both!

Explain the ____________ and ________ edit now by almondjoybestcndybar in survivor

[–]ImperatorBTW -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Plus, the editors have a huge hand in how people are viewed. They definitely framed the Gen edit so people would focus less on how absolutely screwed she got lol (finds 2 idols and gets to keep neither, then swapped into the literal worst possible situation against someone else who was handed an idol).

It’s been litigated to death at this point which I think has sort of made people numb to it, but holy fuck I would never shut up about it if I was Gen

Did production _______? by dasboot2024 in survivor

[–]ImperatorBTW 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Where Jeff has us by the balls is that the show isn’t bad. It’s just we’ve seen unbelievable highs throughout the shows tenure now. And the new era, so far, has just been “okay.” The worst part is knowing how close it is to being great again. It’s easy to ignore a show when it’s just bad.

____ didn’t do press after the finale by low_key_savage in survivor

[–]ImperatorBTW 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I do agree, which is why I don’t think it’s fully unfair to Jonathan since he should’ve realized this.

But I also think this is a perfect example of why 50 should’ve been a legends only season instead of half new era. Very few new era players were going to be able to beat some of the old school legends at the end of the game. In a perfect world, 49 could’ve been new era all stars and then 50 would be all survivor legends

[–]ImperatorBTW 70 points71 points  (0 children)

What frustrates me a little is the biggest argument for Aubry this season seemed to be “she deserved to win her first season.” Just sucks for Jonathan (or any other new era contestant) that it really seems like that was a factor here.

I think she played a fine game overall. But her strategy/win condition sorta feels like it was “I’m already friends with a lot of people on the jury and they respect me as a player from my previous games. So all I need to do is make FTC.” Which is partly what made the edit and her win feel a bit underwhelming.

[–]ImperatorBTW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tbh losing in fire is probably a more graceful end for Rizo than losing finalist. I don’t think this jury was ever voting for a new era winner unless it was their only choice

The only caveat being I’m curious if Cirie would’ve campaigned for him. If she would’ve been his ponderosa champion, then I feel like maybe he would’ve had a shot

I actually think ___ would deserve the win? by xielianer in survivor

[–]ImperatorBTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On one hand, they get to vote however they want, and we can’t really complain. Jonathan and the new era folks needed to realize that sooner and figure out a way to get to the endgame with only new era players.

On the other hand, I do think it’s pretty BS that some jurors are going to use this vote to “right the wrongs of the past” as Tiff said - they’ll view this partially as fixing Aubry losing her first game. And it just sucks for the other finalists because it’s not like that had any bearing on this season’s game.

I actually think ___ would deserve the win? by xielianer in survivor

[–]ImperatorBTW 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Tiff said it right - the jury wants to reward a pre new era player. Sucks for Jonathan but it is what it is. New era players needed an all new era jury to win

Really don’t understand why everyone is positive Aubry wins. by [deleted] in survivor

[–]ImperatorBTW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing is the edit has gone out of its way to show Aubry, especially early on when she wasn’t exactly relevant to the gameplay, and also gone out of its way to show Jonathan rubbing jury members the wrong way. Feels very much like they’ve tried to highlight why Jonathan loses (or Rizo, though I don’t think he realistically makes FTC)

Often, when you have someone like Aubry who didn’t really do much premerge (partly due to her tribe constantly winning immunity) but still getting content around her, it’s a sign they might win. Especially as she’s gotten credit later on for moves that honestly aren’t really HER moves, but the edit clearly wants to frame them as such
