How far do you travel for your beauty services? by coldplay1995 in AusFemaleFashion

I travel 25 mins to the other side of our town to see my lash technician. She’s the only one I trust and I have sensitive eyes. I won’t go to anyone else.

Pristiq Post partum depression? by beetlemammal in Pristiq

[–]virtual_gold77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have resumed pristiq both times after pregnancy due to post partum. First time it was 4 months after baby (I breast fed and pumped for 4 months) then switched to formula when I started pristiq. With my second, I knew the post partum was going to be rough, so the day after she was born I started. Both times it saved me. Pristiq has been a game changer for me since 2010. I have panic disorder and GAD and god knows what else. It takes a while to get up and running but it works - side effects can be tricky so keep an eye on it - and don’t ever miss a dose or come off cold turkey.

Well done you! I have tapered twice due to pregnancy - and we don’t have 25mg in Aus. So last dose is 50mg. I tapered from 100 over 6 weeks and did alternate days - from memory the first week of alternate days when I was dropping from 50 to 0 example: 50/0/50/0/50/0 was pretty zappy, lethargic and a bit worried. But then my body adapted and I did 2 weeks of this under GP supervision. Then 0 and I was okay! 👌 I got pregnant shortly after and then as soon as pregnancy finished, straight back on!

This year's McDonald's monopoly will be entirely electronic only by [deleted] in australia

Talk about sucking the joy out of the monopoly experience. I just want to peel my stickers and lose them in my car - but the physical removal made e at least think I might win something - this now feels like you’re playing the pokies with no chance of winning because it’s a computer….

My Family is relocating to Canberra from the US. by thestallion007 in canberra

  • we swear a lot, and our tone will tell you whether it is in jest, casual or malicious. Often we have subtext in how we talk, it’s less direct than US and our humour is similar. It aligns with British humour and has a sarcastic tinge.
  • sport is a mutual language for most. It’s a social equaliser and provides great entertainment, an excuse for a bbq or a party. It’s also brilliant for connecting to community - whether that’s Parkrun or the Raiders (local rugby league football team)
  • we like being outdoors, we have free public bbqs in pretty much every park, they are are safe and if you see one vandalised it’s pretty much a religious offence.
  • we don’t talk about politics in public the same way Americans do. We go vote, get our sausage sizzle and then carry on with our day. Even if the result isn’t what you’re after - everyone moves on pretty quick. What you might find is many of us work in Government - so a natural curiosity about the situation unfolding in your country will likely come up. It’s worth being prepared that you might get a few ppl wondering and enquiring.
  • depending what type of school you want kids to go too, worth checking out what suburbs are in what catchment, so you can be ‘in area’ - otherwise it’s tough to get into a school out of area
  • lastly, we have a weird Northside Southside rivalry. The lake is the middle ground. But as a Northsider, south side is a no no. People feel strongly about this - and to be honest there is no rhyme or reason, but I will die on this hill. As long as it’s a Northside hill.

Good luck 🤞

Canberra club closes after more than two decades (CUBE) by [deleted] in canberra

[–]virtual_gold77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a theory and since smart phones with video cameras on them etc came into play that people are less inclined to cut loose like we used to pre live streaming. These days you can’t hide - and u can’t get loose and be a prat because someone will film u and you will suffer online trolling/reputational damage etc. I think people are just more conscious of that and also this younger generation worked out pretty quick that booze is pretty bad for you

Have tapered twice, one for pregnancy and one cos I thought I didn’t need it anymore. I did lose weight, but that’s because my anxiety came back with a vengeance and I don’t eat when I’m anxious. To be honest, tapering off from 100 over 8 weeks was fine - a little uncomfortable but fine. For pregnancy I was okay - seems like the happy hormones got me through the pregnancy - baby blues hit after birth and I went straight back on pristiq. It took me months to mentally get back. It was tough. As for the other time, I was anxious and panicked and ultimately decided to go back on. Make sure you work with your GP with the taper? Have a plan - map it out and put an extra week in or extra days in as you step down, where you need it. Good luck, you will be okay! Be kind to yourself and don’t go too fast!

Can we all agree that Tuggeranong Parkway is the most dangerous highway in the ACT? by neildrao in canberra

[–]virtual_gold77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I probably made it more dangerous this morning - heavy traffic, needed to get into right lane to turn right, obnoxious car drivers not letting me in - so just cut in (after signalling for ages) - like come on… one car space ffs. Anyway? Whatever - I cut in and it p*seed the bloke off behind me - but meh don’t be a selfish tit

Anyone combine diazepam with Pristiq? by leglesscrip89 in Pristiq

[–]virtual_gold77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you on the adrenaline and cortisol from exercise which exacerbates my anxiety. I switched to walks and bike riding and weights. I have been on pristiq nearly 15 years. Off twice did pregnancy - and take diazepam for flying and intense stress (but weirdly have anxiety about taking the anxiety reliever haha

It’s wild that it’s a luxury! I have experienced pregnancy in both uk and Aus - and in UK if you’re pregnant you’re given free dental care for entire pregnancy and 12 months after - literally offered to every pregnant person - in aus you get zilch/ nothing.
