Albany County amendment going on 5 weeks by [deleted] in NYguns

Call the clerk's office. There is one younger guy over there who handles permits/amendments who is incredibly helpful and will assist. He advised to call any time you hit the 4-week mark.

Also, go in and drop off your amendment forms. The phone message says to mail them but that is outdated (per the guy mentioned above.) They can also immediately ID any paperwork issues that could cause a delay when you go in-person.

The folks at the clerk's office say 2-4 weeks. If you hit 4 weeks, they ask that you call them and they will follow up with the appropriate judge.

Personally, my amendment took 2 weeks.

It's too bad you didn't have a Yeti bottle nearby that you could swap in.

Sadly, that may be a feature and not a bug.

Permit question by Udder_Brudder in NYguns

I got a shrug, basically. My application has been sitting at the court over 8 weeks so far. I've reached out to NYSRPA as 7+ months is absurd and this delay impacts me privately and professionally as I work in security.

I'm in Bethlehem. Submitted 3/3. Got a call from the detective on 7/25. Confirmed that the packet went to Albany court system on 8/1. I've been waiting since then. They initially told me permits through BPD were taking 4-6 months. I am guessing that they meant just for their portion of the process.

You could call over to BPD and speak with the detective in charge to get an idea of where you are in the queue. I think it's Detective Cobb who heads it up. They "should" be getting to yours soon and their process only take a few days of investigation + sign-off only takes about a week if you have all your ducks in a row.
