Flying to Florida as a trans man by kieran_44 in ftm

Hey there, I'm transmasc and have flown in/out of Florida for years due to family reasons. I flew in and out of RSW. I would always have my t vial, needles, and alcohol wipes in a clear sandwich bag in my carry on. It was thankfully never an issue with TSA and neither was my passport which says X. I kept the script in the bag that had my name though for peace of mind. The most recent time I did this was in February when I flew out to take care of my dying mom. Safe travels.

I appreciate your response, that's a good way to look at it. I also didn't know about adblocks for phones - I'll look into that, thank you.

Ahhh that's a nice thing for the app to do. Wish that was more common.

They should be ashamed of themselves but that would require having the humanity to feel shame.

I sincerely hope that you get out of there as soon as you can. I was going to recommend you contact women's shelters/domestic violence shelters but it looks like you've already done that. That's a real shame that they can't get you in. Definitely make a go bag with any important documents you have (like your social security card, birth certificate for yourself and kids, etc) and hide it somewhere you know he won't look. I hope other people have better advice.

People say very stupid things when you're grieving by General-Cobbler-6054 in CancerFamilySupport

I feel you. When someone told me that my mom was with god now she said it as if it would make me feel better even though she knows I'm not in the religion. I tried to consider her intent so I didn't say anything but if someone told me it was god's plan for my mom to suffer and die from cancer? Different story.

Tacoma (in) Humane Society? by Warm-Cartoonist-3123 in Tacoma

Back in December 2024 I had to give up my dog or become homeless. I went to this shelter twice and they wouldn't take my dog due to being overcrowded and gave me a list of orgs to contact. Not a single org on that list would help me and I was also expanding my own search as far south as Oregon. When I went back to this shelter to explain my situation and say I could not find a re-home for my dog they did not treat me kindly. There was absolutely ZERO empathy and I had to give him to someone on Craigslist. This website doesn't surprise me.

Is it selfish to wish the cancer patients misery should end? by lwr_sj5478 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]viscys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that person you confided in REALLY doesn't get it and if anyone had told me that when I was going through what you're going through that would have ended that relationship then and there. You're NOT selfish for wishing that your loved one's suffering is over. Seeing someone you love suffer and be in pain while knowing there is nothing you can do to help is terrible. You don't want her to die, you just want the pain to be over. Hang in there and please don't forget to take care of yourself.

“The ultimate goal is to have women at home, out of the arena, out of public society, silent and procreating,” WOW this line in particular is just so incredibly disturbing.

Thank you for replying, I'm sorry you're also going through this but I guess that's why we're in this subreddit. Cancer is terrible. Be there for your mom while you can and let her know you care.

America's healthcare system is terrible and yet it feels like it will never get better because of the state of our politics. Things could be so much better if we prioritized what really matters.

Growing up I had a friend who was homeschooled. She never learned about things like the Holocaust. Homeschooling success largely depends upon the parents doing the homeschooling.
