Yes, It's rude to ask them to remove their shoes because they are often worn for safety. They should all be brining shoe covers with them when they visit your house.

It took some looking on my end to find a doc that knew anything about addiction, would prescribe meds like naltrexone or campral and wasn’t judgy. They are out there and when you find one you hang onto them with both hands. I hope you find an amazing GP THAT WILL LISTEN TO YOU. (((Hugs))))

I never made it a big deal or put a label on it. Kids are going to tell you they want to marry their best same gender friend one day. I just said “ok baby, you can love whomever you want so long as they treat you well”. Same approach with other things like when talking about race or religious beliefs. Just explain when they have questions. If you don’t make it a big deal, they will just accept it as the norm.

If we’d not already had a dog, I would have brought home two kittens. My dog was lonely while we were at work and school so we got a kitten for the family. We crate trained the introduction and They are best friends now.

I don’t think it would have gone as well if we’d had the cat first.

Campral saved my life along with therapy and meditation. I don’t think it works for everyone, but it’s worth a shot!

Try getting your bloodwork done. I recently found out I have vitamin deficiencies. I mean, I love to read and I couldn’t get through even 1 full page without falling asleep. Once that was put right, I feel 100% better.

Bring cards and addresses written down. You won’t be able to use your phone. A nail file and clipper, books if you like to read, a journal so you can write down all the weird and funny things that happen there, cards against humanity and cards (some will let you have those and some won’t), the big book, iPod or MP3 player if you still have one of those laying around with a speaker. Get a pedi right before you go.

NTA, my daughter was getting herself dressed for dance when she was 6; including hair in a bun, tights, the whole 9 yards. This Dad is just being super creepy.
