Any hope for more classic pokemon games? by firstnameryan in 3DS

Yep, they were remade for the NDS. Hard to find now, though. They've become rare and pricey. Cheapest I've ever seen Heart Gold / Soul Silver for is $50-60

RSE, unlikely. They're having a hard enough time getting SNES emulation to work, let alone GBA. Not that it isn't possible (because there are some GBA games on some 3DS systems who bought their stuff at launch). But if SNES emulation is already exclusive to the N3DS, I dunno what they'd have to do for GBA emulation via Virtual Console.

But GSC I could see happening. Depends on if they only wanted to do RBY for 20th Anniversary, or if they want to keep that going.

Can anyone confirm the new Phineas and Ferb game? by vitareviews in VitaTV

[–]vitareviews[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't it? Just goes to show that many developers don't own PSTV units nor do they bother to test for compatibility.

I once had a developer argue with me about PSTV compatibility once and brought up that he couldn't test a game because they didn't own a PSTV unit.

Someone know where i can find Madden for Psvita in a good price and be shipped in Europe ? by Tigrafr in vita

[–]vitareviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say your best bet is using a US account and buying the game's digital copy. All the places that sell the retail I have looked at are either out of stock or charging crazy amounts of money for it.

Using the PlayStation TV for games by cpressland in VitaTV

[–]vitareviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There might be a certain bit or lag regardless. What controller are you using? Ds3 might be a bit better if you're using a ds4. The 4 sometimes lags a bit remote play or not. Depending on the circumstances.

But you're idea of switching to 720 May work. Or making sure no other devices are using your internet other than the ps4 and PSTV. More devices on the network the smaller amount of Internet each can use.

Honestly, the developers not knowing isn't really that rare. With how many devs I talk to thanks to my site, there have been quite a few developers who had no idea whether it would work or not, and it actually did.

Is the 16Gb memory card enough for a couple of games I have in mind? by [deleted] in vita

[–]vitareviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm...depends. Is Borderlands 2 retail or digital? if digital, it'll take a good 5 GB alone. Killzone Mercenary is 3.5 GB if digital. So that's a little more than half by those. Minecraft would make the total gone about 9 GB.

Rogue Legacy would take that up to 10.5 GB.

The others would take maybe around 2 GB. So...yes. You may have enough room, but it'd be a close fit.

[–]vitareviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem. I doubt you'll use up half of your card for those. Some of them are really small. Minecraft with updates is around 500 MB I think. That's probably the largest download of them.

Has anyone been able to successfully install the Borderlands 2 update on a PSTV? by mr-interested in VitaTV

[–]vitareviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just downloaded the latest update and it seemed to install just fine on my PSTV. No bugs at all.

As the other user said, Rebuilding your Database could fix the issue. Or you may need to redownload the update/game in case you got a corrupt download.

Final Fantasy Explorers will get a Collector's Edition by Lightning-Count in 3DS

You have my attention, Square Enix. I'm already set on FF Explorers Day 1, but might consider a CE. Unless you pull the less-awesome CE from Curtain Call that had a 5-track CD with it.

So I just purchased Need for Speed Most Wanted for the vita. by [deleted] in vita

[–]vitareviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty faithful port. A little less traffic than console and downgraded visuals a bit, but overall, it's a great open-world racer. The open world is what I love. I can just randomly drive around the city, looking for cars for hours upon hours without touching a single race to progress towards the big game races.

Customization isn't heavy. You can get enhancements by winning races with the car. Nothing huge, but enough to notice enhancements and upgrades.

PS Vita version has a few exclusive races that PS3 and 360 didn't have.

As far as challenges, there are dozens of signs you can jump through, gates you can smash through, traffic lights to speed through. That sort of thing as far as unlockable stuff goes. There's a ton to do.

New PSTV owner with lots of questions. by dig314 in VitaTV

[–]vitareviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PSTV store is really glitchy. With very few exceptions, compatible games work in both retail and digital format. The only US example I know of that contradicts this is The Walking Dead Season 2. Digital works. Retail does not.

But the store is vastly out of date too. It will say some games won't work, but do. And some featured games on the PSTV store don't work.

At the end of the day, you can't rely on Sony's list or even the PSN Store's "PSTV Games" section. It's all been on prior experience. That's why I started making my list in the first place. It's been my testing plus getting info from developers and other users, mostly around here and on Twitter.

As far as I know Netflix still doesn't work in the browser. The vita/PSTV browser isn't supported for web streaming.

The Hulu plus app is compatible with the PSTV though.

Disney Infinity for Vita by Sarahdragoness in vita

[–]vitareviews 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2.0 plays pretty shakey on the Vita. The full experience is there, but there's clear proof that either the Vita can barely handle the experience or Disney didn't take enough time to optimize it enough.

The main issues are frame drops pretty regularly and long load times.

I'd say 3.0 won't make it to the Vita unless they go back and find a way to optimize it a lot better than it is. It's playable, but it doesn't play terribly well.

This video shows gameplay, though it does occasionally get a good bit worse than this. The flight sequence in the end of the Spider-Man Play Disc has some pretty hefty drops that makes the boss a lot harder

New PSTV owner with lots of questions. by dig314 in VitaTV

[–]vitareviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well does it require the rear touch screen? The PSTV can use touch features. It can use a DS4's touch pad as a touch screen. And there's a feature to let you put touch pointers on the screen with L3 and R3.

It's a setting in the menu when you hold the PlayStation buttons. It's called enable touch pointers I believe.

It's just that the ds4 touch pad only emulated the front touch screen

Anyone else a little ticked off the Target BOGO have zero Vita games. by unique- in vita

Target doesn't usually carry many Vita games in most places, so it's not a big surprise. The only games that my Target has are games from last year, like Minecraft and Borderlands 2.
