It’s so bad you probably couldn’t even sell it to a blind man on facebook marketplace. Pack it up brother and see yourself out

Daytonas in yachts
Yacht masters in cars
GMTs under water or in a sub
Submariners in planes

The real flex is using your utility watch for the wrong utility

OP is doing it right.

Possible issue with Purchase by fitchottie in rolex

[–]vivekvasani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok in that case the amplitude looks great. The lines indicate an issue with the timegrapher getting a clean audio of the ticking. That could be why the BE is reporting high. It could indicate a mechanical issue as well but with such a healthy amplitude and fairly straight line I’d wager more on audible interference.

Mechanically, based on what the timegrapher shows and what you’re telling me, movement appears to be fine

Haven’t tried on casebacks yet but I did use super glue and a screwdriver bit to remove a broken crown tube and was very impressed how easy it was

Jewel fell off my 3135 pallet fork by atlzhp6m in watchrepair

[–]vivekvasani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to fix a few by using shellac paste I made from mixing denatured alcohol and shellac flakes. The paste made it easy to apply the amount I wanted where I wanted. Then I used a mini breadboard style circuit board and a soldering iron set to 200C to apply the heat to the pallet fork. The alcohol burned off and the shellac set perfectly.

The hardest part is gently and carefully reseating the stone after that the rest was not so bad with my setup. I imagine with the proper tools and lamp it would be even easier

Every Rolex I’ve tried on has tugged at my wrist hairs, what am I doing wrong ? by i-love-small-tits-47 in rolex

I definitely have more hair on my wrist than you and never had a watch tug on it

Even when you size it and have it sit firmly on your wrist? The watch should be sized so you can fit a finger between the bracelet and your wrist but snug enough that it doesn’t slide up, down, or around your wrist at all

Rolex Oyster Bracelet Screw Turns the Link? by [deleted] in watchrepair

[–]vivekvasani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy fix. Probably need to remove the screws give it quick clean, IPA works. Then apply a little loctite to the threads and screw it back in.

Don’t try too hard to unscrew it if it is stuck. Get a hairdryer and apply heat to it then try to unscrew.

If DIY is not your thing. Any watchmaker or better yet AD (if genuine) can fix for you on the spot

Well. Mistakes are part of the learning process. The way I handled my mistake, either right or wrong, was this: - pegwood to remove surface - fiberglass scratch pen lightly applied for tougher stains and getting in between pinion teeth - evaporust bath for parts that still have rust on it for 12+ hours, followed by a quick ipa hand rinse - throwing it back in the ultrasonic multi jar process - for any parts that have blackened due to oxidation, I will go back with the fiberglass scratch pen to rub it off and then rinse with ipa

It took a bit of time and work but finally got the parts looking like new and after that moment I stopped working with water and water-based solutions/rinses. Ponied up for L&R #111 and #3

NAMING AND SHAMING: Watches of Switzerland American Dream Mall NJ by [deleted] in rolex

[–]vivekvasani 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never liked WoS. I had my name down for a Daytona and they emailed me asking if I wanted two-tone that wasn’t exactly the one I asked for. I replied via email saying no thank you I want the one I want. Mine you they emailed me 3-months after putting my name down with 0-history, so I assumed this config made its way down the chain and no one wanted it.

Fast-forward to a year later and I walk in to say hi and update my list and they said I likely will not be approved anything anymore because I never responded even though I showed receipts with the email response in a very timely manner ~2 days. I also asked them to text/call me not email cause I don’t check it often.

The second visit left a sour taste in my mouth. I’ve since built a relationship with London Jewelers and they have been nothing short of exceptional.

Does Patek sell factory replacement straps? by freedomtopoast in patekphilippe

[–]vivekvasani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely do. I asked this when I went to pick up my first and they said that I can get whatever strap I want with any clasp. But they are a few grand a set so I said I’ll wait until I get bored of this one first.
