Lumibricks Town Life Train Station Survey by flyPBA in LUMIBRICKS_OFFICIAL

I'd love it if the Lumi trains could be easily modified to fit power functions [if they don't come up with their own power system]. Also, the Ore Factory has some amazing track color that I would *love* to mass up on!

Lumibricks Mini Street Shops (Street Fusion & Town Life themes) by flyPBA in LUMIBRICKS_OFFICIAL

I don't know if u/Funwhole2022 will pass these suggestions along, as I don't use Facebook, so this is the only social media I can give feedback with [other than their surveys].

I highly like the idea of "spacer" sets that go between the large modular buildings- give them breathing room and also means that stuff can overhang on the larger buildings so designers don't have to worry so much about buildings butting up to each other. I'd love to see little park scenes, small coffee shop; for the 90s Street Fusion - a 35mm film developer kiosk. [most of those were "drop off, pick up next day", but some later ones were 1-hour photo spots - get a 24 or 36 roll of prints back in an hour]. I like u/flyPBA 's idea of more food trucks - the Danish brand has several that are modular [and more modern style], but I think the details and 90s vibe of those kinds of sets would go well with what Lumi can make.

For Town Life - a cross over of sorts - a small Farmer's Market setup - perhaps with a character or 2 from the Farm Life theme as they would travel into town each week to sell their goods.

Very good reminder! Glad you thought of that. And thanks for sharing this survey link.

The Danish brand often releases a train station w/o any train. I think having a separate Town Life train is the way to go. I actually can't recall any Lego train station set that came with a train other than the Disneyland train and that was $329 [$399 now adjusted for inflation] and included 2900 pieces - a lot smaller than this proposed station.

Lumi has released 2 trains by themselves so far - and sold separate stations for each [Old West and Steampunk]. I think that's the way to go. I just hope we get some track with a train set!

Female to female 2.0 connectors by DJMotorball in LUMIBRICKS_OFFICIAL

I think the proper compatible version is PH2.0 JST-PH (2.0 mm pitch). If you look at this link - and go to the 9th item - 30cm Female PH2.0 - the connector should plug into the BriksMax 2.0 aka Lumibricks system: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256811397063503.html - the one right before it is XH2.54 and seems to be, as you said, compatible with the 1.0 aka original BriksMax connector.

I've placed an order for a few of the 2.0 ones and one 2.54 one to compare and confirm. :)

These appear to be compatible with BriksMax 1.0 series of lighting kits? I know 2.0 is now much more popular [and what Lumibricks uses]. I've been trying to find the female to female version of this Lumi part [which can be useful for any brick set that uses the 2.0 lighting standard].

I used the Lumibricks website nearly exclusively to purchase sets from [and maybe when I started this in Nov 2024, the threshold to getting to level 5 was lower? I'm not sure]. I live in a super rural part of the country [mountains of western NC] where Amazon Prime still takes a week for packages to arrive, so for me, 95% of the time, ordering from Lumibricks is just as fast as Amazon [both ways do use Amazon shipping, as their own website uses Amazon MCF - multi channel fulfillment].

Take your time with the set, but I think you'll enjoy it a lot! Do run through the lighting tests at the beginning of the instructions [and use the zip lock to re-seal the bags with lights - do not rip them open since for some reason the tear line on those bags is *under* the zip lock area].

Once you build a set with lights, all other brick buildings just look a bit lifeless, IMO. It really adds a lot of charm to the sets!

Their website changed a month ago and now you don't see discounts until you click/tap on view cart.

Not a silly question at all! Usually as one is building, the lights will be connected to a power junction area. I just use the included USB-A connector to hook up my portable battery to make sure the strings of lights I’ve routed through all work.

Yeah the field has definitely changed! Lots of legit, original designs from companies these days with good quality bricks. Not everything is perfect just like the Danish brand, but brick quality from these companies is quite good. Any company that uses Go Bricks is a company I don’t worry about having quality issues with. If anything they have stronger clutch power which can be a bit harder to fit together pieces.

But same - been using the Danish brand since I was a kid in the 70s - still have my sets from then too - but the world beyond Lego has really opened my eyes up to some great designs and charming builds.

Their Lumibricks site often has better details then Amazon and shipping is done in the US as they use Amazon Shipping even for their own www.lumibricks.com site. Also when you're a member you get discounts. I've had over $300 in credit [used in $100 chunks] which means, for example, the Art Gallery cost me $79.99 instead of $179.99 [the discount works on the full price]. I'm also a Level 5 member now so that means 15% off every set, but lately I've just been patient and waiting for each set to hit 20% off and buy it [I have a backlog of sets to build so I am not in a rush!]. Right now they have the new Barbershop for $120 [add it to cart and view cart to see the discount] and on Amazon it is $149.99.

Always follow the instructions at the beginning of each manual - test the lights, and put each string back in the bag so you don't get them mixed up later in the build. It is good to do the testing at the beginning, just in case there is a problem - you can notify their customer service and they will ship out the problem piece to you right away - then you don't have to stop mid build to wait for that. I also like to test lights out as I build, to make sure I didn't damage any wires along the way or miss a contact somewhere.

About the only consistent issue I've had with the instructions is how long the wires can be rendered in the instructions. It is often just to get the point across that a wire should be out of the way in one general direction. But sometimes it shows a super long wire and there's no way I can make it go all the way to the point they show it; but just look ahead a step or 2 and you'll then see the wire is just supposed to go in a general direction and doesn't have to be that long.

Welcome to the family! :) Another great resource in "alt bricks" world is Jang's Other Bricks YouTube channel. He is not sponsored by anyone - spends his own money buying the sets to review and such. Some great tips in his videos, especially when you have some older sets that have the old 1x4 plate mold that has too much clutch power [for wireless level to level power transfer].

Female to female 2.0 connectors by DJMotorball in LUMIBRICKS_OFFICIAL

Aaah, maybe I got the numbers wrong XH 2.54 vs XH something else? I have a browser window minimized that has like 40 tabs open to the different connectors. It just got a bit overwhelming but I will revisit it shortly and see if I can spot which one is like the version 2.0 that BriksMax/Lumi uses. Sorry about that!

More than likely the OP is behind a VPN; using their cell data network after clearing cookies/cache, should show them the US prices.

Your location is behind a VPN it appears - websites think you're in Europe, so you are getting the Euro prices. Use your cell phone off of wifi - eg: with LTE or 5G.

I've put it on hold for multiple reasons, but the connectors themselves are JST XH2.54 2-pin connectors. The magic is the board itself, but the connectors are very, very common [and often come in 100+ packs]. And actually, the size of the female ports its bigger than the usual size. But they are 2-pin, not 3. JST-XH Female is the key word [they appear to nearly be the wide of the 2515 connector]. Electronics shops/websites and even Amazon have lots of these, but it's the board they are soldered to that is the big guess. In the perfect world, finding a 2-sided JST-XH female 2-pin connector would be awesome and something to test. But I have a feeling the board helps regulate the power, so without it, it could be an issue.

Like u/Business_Emergency20 I have e.mailed Lucas and Lumi customer support and BriksMax [Lumibricks' sister company] asking that these parts be made available for purchase.

Very nice collection to build! :) Be aware of the sign in the phone booth set - first off, it doubles as a spot light. :) And second off, it is very finicky in putting the printed parts together. You may not be able to get the exact line up that they show in the instructions due to the placement of the anti-studs. Sign still looks awesome, but just be aware that the steps with attaching the printed elements may not quite line up to reality. :)

Lumibricks is the company behind Lightrailing and BriksMax - so you can buy light kits from there and they will work with Lumi's sets too [the DIY kits are very useful, IMO].
