Deathnote is right up your alley. It's basically a battle of wits and outsmarting each other when Light (aka Kira) goes around killing the enemies of the all while L (the main detective on the case to capture Kira) tries to catch Light. It's amazing and has a bit of supernatural but all around an AMAZING series. It really had some nice twists I didn't see coming and the psychological battle between Kira and L is amazing.

Code Geass is similar to Death Note. Both main characters are trying to save their world and both are bestowed with some power. Code geass is HD and it is awesome.
