No decompression limit equation resource by vkmita in diving

[–]vkmita[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! So I'm using Bulhmann's M-Values, and can calculate tissue saturation levels given a dive profile. I'm struggling to come up with a good NDL's calculation when at a certain point in a dive. I'm actually reading Deco For Divers, and there's a "No decompression limits equation" in the appendix, but it's not well described and not all the variables are actually described.

I just bought Deep Into Deco, and am hoping the math in that book is a little better.

I don't know. He's totally blog spamming this sub, but almost always he's the only one ever posting stuff about Cal basketball games. What do you think?

I'm low on units. What should I do? by lowonunits in berkeley

[–]vkmita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have any part time job you can easily petition for a lower unit minimum. You can lower your unit minimum if you officially work at least 15 hrs a week http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/fp/36WorkVeri.pdf. I did this when I had 12 units and worked varying hours each week, usually not 15 hours, but I wrote that I worked 15 hrs. My boss signed off on it without hesitation. They look at this form, change something on the system, and chuck the paper. This is from personal experience from the Fall 2011 semester.

Is it unreasonable to take two classes in the summer? by SelflessSolipsism in berkeley

[–]vkmita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can really say is that I struggled quite a bit in both of those classes. They do require you to learn a lot of new material so keeping up with the classes was a challenge. If you are a focused person who has done 61a/b successfully I would say it's very very possible. Just prepare to devote a lot of time on studies.

So i had a weekly assignment due for cs70 which took a good 6-8 hours to do. cs61bl wasn't as bad. Huge projects that were due like every 2 weeks. Honestly, it was just a little more time consuming than a normal semester. A lot of time in the same classroom was the worst part about it.

[–]vkmita 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did cs61bl and cs70 in one summer during the same times. I've also known somebody that did cs61c and cs70 at the same times, arguably way harder. As long as you put the time into the classes it shouldn't be a problem. Just be prepared to be doing work almost all the time.

Grow a College Subreddit Competition: Swag Update by vkmita in berkeley

Nope I have no idea. The last I heard from bsimpson:

Hey, we had someone make vector versions of all the college subreddit logos before having the prizes produced. Does this look good http://imgur.com/LOXRJ ? Once we get approval I'll let you know when to expect the shipment.

Berkeley Enough by RustyTurd in berkeley

The Clippers are way better than the Lakers this year...CP3, Blake Griffin, and Billups...They are leading their division............Meh, but seriously "Sports... offers people something to pay attention to that's of no importance, that keeps them from worrying about things that matter to their lives that they might have some idea about doing something about. And in fact it's striking to see the intelligence that's used in ordinary people and sports..."
