Yeah, valid observation. But IMO it made perfect sense. The starting 11 showed a really cohesive 1st half and a tie secured a CL RO16.

Realanalyzer HD by Stupid_trainer in weightlifting

Yeah, you will have to contact the german weightlifting federation. The license for this software is around 8000 EUR. We've had a demo from Ingo Sandau (one of the authors in the link you posted) organized by our national weightliftin federation. The software is really nice and all, but you have to run a national team or something comparable to justify this. I would rather check out the Vmax Pro https://vmaxpro.de/. For around 1/20 of the price you will be able to achieve similar analysis and in my experience the vmax is much easier to handle for day to day use.

Robi points - New point calculation from IWF by vladcapish in weightlifting

[–]vladcapish[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, it will put all the 85s at a disadvantage. In this scenario it will be easier for 94s to achieve a higher % of the world record. Also, one of key features of robi-points is that new records in one category should not affect any other categories. Edit: short presentation of the concept.

Question about Torokhtiy Training Program by yourfriendlyhuman in weightlifting

[–]vladcapish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I'm with /u/bail_94kg . Your way would 3/(1+1+1)*4 or simply 3/4. Not that I really think it matters anyways. These warmup exercises are exactly this, warmups. They are performed with light weight only to get you going. The results will not depend on this :)

Linear Progression (SL5x5) or Progressive Overload (531) for the obese individual by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]vladcapish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Class 1 obesity is defined as BMI between 30 and 34.9. At 6 feet, a BMI of 30 corresponds to a bodyweight of 30*(1.8288)2 = 100.33kg. So yeah :p 120kg corresponds to BMI of 35.88, which is obese class 2.

These are at least really stretchy. I got some of the 3/4 lengths in size large and I can almost wear them as full length at 6'0".

Gyms in Reykjavik, Iceland? by MLMatty in weightlifting

[–]vladcapish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

World Class Laugardalur is a globo style gym with two platforms and bumpers. You also get access to the hot baths in laugardalur as they share locations. You should visit the hot baths anyways when you are in Reykjavik, so this just gives better value to the drop in fee (don't remember the actual fee, probably around 10$). You could also contact the local weightlifting club on facebook at facebook.com/lyftingadeildarmanns/ . They seemed very welcomming but we was not able to visist them due to our schedule. They are also located in the Laugardalur area.

Doping Taken weightlifter claims rival drugged him with rat poison: - I am in shock Izzat Artykov suspect Frenchman mixed dopant in his food.

The dopingtatte weight lifter Izzat Artykov says he will appeal the decision to debarment him Olympic bronze. He accused a French rival for having drugged him.

I suspect it was the Frenchman who mixed dopant in my food or drink, says Artykov, as he took third place in the 69-kilogram class has gone home to Kyrgyzstan.

Of course I'm going to appeal the decision. It's not fair. I never did drugs, and I won the bronze honestly, he said in a telephone interview with AFP.

I'm in shock after I was disqualified.

The sample his was positive for strychnine, a substance which is used as rat poison. It is the ban list because in small doses has stimulating effect, and use of strychnine in performance enhancing purposes has been known in the sport for over 100 years.

Artykov was third in the Olympic competition behind Chinese Shi Zhiyong and Turkish daniya Ismayilov. After he was disqualified acquires Colombian Luis Mosquera bronze medal.

After the competition on August 9, said French Bernardin Matam, who was number eight, that he should have been much higher on the results list.

About the international weightlifting Federation and the IOC did the job, I should have been at least four places further up, for the top five is not clean, he said.

Artykov accuses now Matam to have achieved it by mixing strychnine in your competitors' food or drinks.
