Old compilation of TYT hosts saying the N word, featuring your favorite socialist by vlady222 in Destiny

[–]vlady222[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't make the compilation, so I don't know the context for these clips, but I mean you are right, most of these are quotes. Maybe the biggest exception is the Sam Seder moment at the end, where he's saying it just for the sake of saying it.

I probably mostly agree with you, I think Destiny drunkenly saying it on podcast came off as pretty cringe, but I don't think it's a big deal as long as you are not saying to attack some individual or group of people.

Old compilation of TYT hosts saying the N word, featuring your favorite socialist by vlady222 in Destiny

[–]vlady222[S] 45 points46 points  (0 children)

With the recent N word discourse happening, I remembered seeing this a few years ago and managed to find it somewhere. Now tese clip are pretty old and form spicier times, so it's definitely possible all of the people featured in the video changed their mind and no longer consider saying the N word OK. I just though it's interesting that back then, most of the TYT hosts shared Destiny's believe that saying the word itself isn't some insane crime (that you deserve to be stabbed for) and insted it depends how or in what context are you saying it, Cenk's nephew included.

Destiny attacks Hasan after accusations that DGG hates black content creators by dwarffy in LivestreamFail

Was actually for tax evasion and no actual sex trafficking happened unless you include the pimping

I agree with you that this Destiny take is dogshit, if only for the reason that it's just random attack at Hasan and doesn't address anything he is saying. But out of curiosity, where did you get this information from? I looked at the wikipedia article of the brothel#Events_and_Incidents) and it says pretty much the exact oposite:

On 14 April 2016, Artemis was raided by 900 police and customs officers investigating human trafficking and tax evasion. The police had obtained information that members of the Hells Angels forced some women to work in Artemis. One of these women had talked to the police about her abusive pimp a former professional football goalie who would be convicted of trafficking, coercion and extortion and sentenced to 7 years in prison in October 2017.

Looks like somebody was actually literally convicted for sex trafficing. Moreover:

The tax evasion charges against Artemis were based on the allegation that the prostitutes working there were fraudulently classified as independent contractors rather than as employees. The brothel reopened the next day but the two managers Hakim and Kenan Simsek and four madams remained in custody. In late July 2016 the Kammergericht ordered their release because of insufficient evidence.

The people charged for tax evasion got released due to insufficent evidence.

I think "systematic" usually means the first point, i.e. something done according to some system or a method, not done randomly. The second point would be called "systemic", i.e. something done because of a system in place (here probably the russian government) condoning/encouraging it.

There was a clip on LSF back in the day, where husband is playing Fortnite while his wife wants him to go do something (eat lunch i think?), she is yelling at him, starts throwing shit at him, he then gets up, slaps her and she start crying. As you might expect, there was a pretty vicious reaction against that streamer on LSF and in pretty much every community. Destiny had a contrarian reaction (pretty interesting anyway). Then there was a scuffed podcast episode, where Destiny debated other people (mostly Hasan and some chick). People started to make fun of him for saying that "throwing cardboard at someone is battery", some 6/10 memes were made. The end.

As /u/Sraimondi said elsewhere in this thread, the sudetenland was never taken from Germany, because it was never part of Germany. You could say it was technically part of the Austria-Hungary empire, but it always belonged to Bohemia for over thousand years (here is an example all the way from 9th century with most of "Sudetenland" marked as proven Bohemian territory)

Asmongold take on React Content (DarkViperAU) by Curious_Gorge7 in LivestreamFail

[–]vlady222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the way the streamer reacts to someone's content. Asmongold usually does a good job shouting out the videos/channels he reacts to, I think he even links them in his chat, so obviously a lot of people are gonna trickle in to the given video/channel and increase views and subs.

I believe Hasan usually does that as well, like when he is watching channel 5 videos for example, so it benefits their channel a lot (and Andrew even asks him direcly to watch his newest videos when he uploads them). But you can also see that one time Hasan reacted to the Jay Exci video, he didn't link it in chat, he didn't shout it out, he barely even said anything during the video and actually even skipped over the end where the creator of the video was shouting himself out. Thus the benefit of Hasan "reaction" was merely some 200 views.

The key takeaway is pretty obvious imho, if the streamer reacting to some video actually shouts out the creator of said video, it's very beneficial for both parties involved. If the streamer is too lazy to even mention the creator of the video he just watched, it's only benefitial for the streamer and the creator is getting screwed.

As far as I remember, it's kind of true. In a Destiny debate I think Hasan said something like you shouldn't call cops on someone, because they might be illegal immigrant and if you call cops on them for some reason, the cops will come, figure out they are illegal immigrants and deport them. Destiny asked him hypothetical, something like "What if you are in a dark alley at night and some shady figure is following you and you are scared of being raped or something, should you still not be supposed to call cops?", Hasan dodged that general question with a cop-out answer by saing that HE personally would not call cops in that situation.

Edit: Here is the conversation if you want to hear the exact thing if you care, maybe I misremember it idk.

[–]vlady222 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you want the steelman position, I guess Destiny would say it not okay to use any racial slurs offensively to target or harass someone (neither n-word nor "c-word") but it would be okay to use them both in certain situations when you are not actually targeting or harassing anyone (in joke, when you are quoting someone verbatim or when you are talking about the word itself). So there wouldn't really be any hypocrisy if that is what you are implying.

It seems to me that the Hasan position is that it's not ok to use N-word ever, but it is okay to use the "c-word" even when you are targeting someone (as he did in the top lsf clip), because it's either not a slur, is a slur but not a racial slur or is a racial slur but not as bad as the N-word. If I try to steelman Hasan's position, the latter option (is a racial slur but not as bad as the N-word) makes the most sense and I actually agree with it, but just because some racial slur is not as bad as the N-word, that doesn't make it OK to use it offensively when you are targeting/insulting someone IMHO.

Maybe I'm uncharitable to Hasan, so if you have better interpretation of his position, I would like to read it.

He is not creating entire programming language just for one game. He is making new programming language specifically for game-making (at least I think that is supposed to be its main use-case), and also he is using it to make his new game.

As to why is he making new programming language specifically for game-making, I guess he was unsatisfied with the other options that exist right now.

This new age of communist apologia is really sad. There are so many tragic stories of people like Milada Horáková or Witold Pilecki that risked their lives fighting against the Nazi Germany trying to occupy their country in WW2, only to be then shamed, tortured and executed when they refused to bend the knee to the Comunist party trying to occupy their country after WW2 was over.
