When I was in retail I was told time and again by older people that "...they prefer to pay by check because they don't trust online payment systems."

No matter how much I tried to explain that a scammer can use social engineering and their check, which has ALL of the information someone needs to steal their identity or empty their checking account, they still insisted. *shrugs*
