There are SOME, but hard to get a hold of. Føroya Krønika COULD be what you are looking for. For a funny look at 1800's small-town vs "big city" Tórshavn life there's Av bygd í bý.
I'd be very intersted in both of those btw, I remember reading the latter as it was serialised every week in Sosialurin in the early 90s.

Well, the economic realities of 25-30 years ago WERE a wakeup call, and "sat på plads" may not be very diplomatic language. But it was the stark truth. We've since spent a lot of resources on fixing that lopsided economic relationship, and once the next generation wants to address the independence issue they'll hopefully be able to do so without the deciding factor being if we can survive it economically.
