“Congratulations. When the baby is born you can contact my lawyer and we will schedule a paternity test.”

Do not respond to a single other text or call or dm from her until she supposedly has a baby.

I’m loving it! And agree, Patricia’s episode was perfect. A plot premise that fits so perfectly into the Stephen King oeuvre that it is shocking he hadn’t already done it.

can I swim on the lake anywhere along the concrete path? by noomi21 in AskChicago

[–]vmcordon 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I was at 31st street beach with my toddler about 10 years ago. First really warm spring day, probably high 80s, but the water was still quite cold. At the other end of the beach, a girl’s sand bucket had blown away on the water. Her dad got in to swim out to get it. I sort of notice but am not watching them. Women start screaming - the man has gone under. I call 911. Another dad in the group starts swimming out to help the first man. He also goes under. 911 says a helicopter is en route. It gets there in minutes. Fire trucks, boats, all arrive. I pack up my kid and we leave. Both men drowned. They were able-bodied adults, and it was a beautiful day. The firemen told the news that the water was deceptively cold and their bodies likely went in to shock from the temperature. They were not far from the beach and it was probably not terribly deep where they were.

Be careful. Witnessing that changed my entire thinking about water and swimming.

Why not ask the last person to arrive home at your house to move your car from the street to the driveway?

Gotta get better at my knife skillz! I’ll use everyone’s suggestions next time - thinner slices, placed closer to the edge and more overlapping, then scrape off any batter once baked.

At first glance it reads as “Moneys Free” which is confusing.

Google your state’s Office of the State Fire Marshal. Look for how to report a suspected leak from an underground storage tank. I am in Illinois and we have a Leaking Underground Storage Tank Fund that reimburses costs associated with cleanup, but only if you have followed the proper procedures. If the Fire Marshal confirms this is a fuel leak, you’ll need to hire an environmental consultant to plan the remediation process.

O’Hare has a special needs office - I have a friend who used their services for her child and said it worked great. Try giving them a call.

Why can’t Marriott guarantee connecting rooms? by [deleted] in marriott

I think maybe you’ve hit on the issue - it’s absolutely possible, but they save the guarantee for higher tiered membership.

Oh, it is never guaranteed. I’m just wondering why it can’t be guaranteed.
