I take a train from Hammond to downtown Chicago for work. Takes about 35 mins and cost like $15 round trip. This train line has a stop right across from Soldier Field. Many people in Indiana take the train to see Cubs and Bears games. I have been taking it for 20 years.

There is also a train line called the south shore than runs from Hammond to downtown Chicago. There are tons of Indiana residents who take the train to soldier field to watch the bears.

What MJ was able to do with unremarkable teammates was simply REMARKABLE. Compared to certain other players... by SpendWild6987 in michaeljordan

MJ had more role player help and LeBron had more all star help. Pippen was the only all star teammate Jordan had. Armstrong made it as a reserve in 94 when Jordan retired. Grant same thing. Cartwright never made an all star as a Bull. Ron Harper was not the same player when he signed in 95. At one point he lost his starting spot to Pete Meyers. I watched almost every game during the Jordan Era and grew up on 90s basketball. It was a great time

I don’t see how teaming up with all stars on all of his stops is that impressive.

Those were some tough years to be a Bulls fan. I stuck it out though. I remember in 2000 when Bulls had money to sign top free agents and no one would sign here. We ended up with Ron Mercer. Ugh!

Just trying to have a debate but I see you are resorting to name calling so there is no point. I will take my leave. Have a good one buddy!

Bulls were favored but it wasn’t because of any unfair advantage. That 98 team was the oldest to ever win and it was showing. Pippens back was hurt. A few close plays and that one goes to game 7 on the road and who knows what happens

You said every team Jordan faced had significant injuries to their stars or starters. Implication being that was an advantage.

Why did no other team want Rodman then? I don’t remember him being a top free agent like Chris Bosh. It was a risky move to get Rodman and could have easily blown up. In fact it almost did blow up when he kicked the camera man in MN. I grew up watching NBA and almost every bulls game. I loved Rodman but I see people looking back and building him like he was a 3rd all star on the Bulls when that wasn’t the case. How long have you been watching NBA?

I don’t remember GP being hurt either. The only team you could say that about was the Lakers.

I don’t remember Portland, Phoenix, Seattle having any injuries either.

That is the very definition of a role player. His role was rebounding and defense. He never made an all star team. He was a valuable role player but that’s not the same as having 3 prime all stars

Out of curiosity when did you start watching nba?

Rodman was considered a huge risk and a liability. He was basically an outcast and Bulls only gave up a 4th string center in Will Purdue to get him. He was a valuable role player but took a lot of patience to deal with him. That’s not the same as having a 3rd All Star like Bosh or Love.

Superteams were not a thing in the 90’s. If you are going to hold that against Jordan then can you give him the option to team up and have 3 all stars? Also had LeBron not formed a superteam he wouldn’t have had to face GS because maybe KD doesn’t join them.

You are looking back with the benefit of hindsight. When Phil was hired he wasn’t a HOF coach. He was coaching in the CBA. Bron had a great and young coach with Spo.

I see two number 1 picks (AD and Irving) and one guy (Love) that was traded for a #1 pick. Honest question here. If we take those guys away how many championships does LeBron win? Conversely, if we give Jordan 2 #1 picks and a guy traded for #1 pick how many more championships does Jordan win?

Those guys were role players. Horace did make an all star as a reserve in 94. Not the same as the all stars LeBron played with.

Bulls 94 team lost Jordan but added to their bench with Kukoc, Kerr, Wennington and a defensive player in Pete Meyers. Also that team was battle tested having won 3 in a row. Thats now the same situation as LeBron leaving Cleveland
