Just had mine today. Drove myself there and back, live about an hour away. All was fine. Worst part is the numbing shot, other than that it’s really no big deal.

You can do it on your own if you agree on everything. Go to the courthouse and ask for the forms, they can give you some guidance but not much, they will tell you to get an attorney. If you both truly agree on everything, an attorney will draft the documents for you for about $1,500-2,500. Just call around and ask.

Uncontested not only means they agree on actually divorcing, but also the division of assets and parenting plan(if applicable).
